It's a stupid argument saying that because baseball plays series, you're less likely to have "fluke" winners like football. I would say the reverse actually.

Trying to belittle or downplay LSU's legitimately awesome baseball Fanbase and call them phony does not have merit.

That whole act is more aggravating and frustrating than anything that I see on saturdays during football season. Its a small minority of LSU fans, but the people who feel the need to call themselves "LSU Baseball fans" in order to make it clear that they rise above the "muck" that is the rest of the fan base just bothers me.

If this was not the Rant, I'd be surprised that this issue is still going strong after almost a yr. And the same posters on both sides are saying the same thing again & again. I honestly wonder how many fans, on both sides, have season tickets and/or watch a majority of the games, to the extent they actually "know" these supposedly self absorbed fans & are in an education position to comment on their intentions. But, it is amusing to find ranters disagreeing on something like......sportsmanship.

cannot appreciate baseball with a football mentality.

It was fine giving UNC-Wilmington the lap, because they beat Tulane and gave us an extra inning game.

This, however, is not fine.

To each his own ....its just a game.

They were the better more talented team. People wouldn't have done a victory lap if USC or Bama had just done that to us.

At the plate, yes. Defensively, yes. But we had a huge advantage on the mound. It's a shame that our hitters were bad that weekend, save for 3 good swings when we were down to our last at bat in Game 1.

I didn't think LSU hit all that bad that weekend, they hit alot of at'em balls and the Stony Brook CF made play after play on gap balls

I think it's a cool thing, so I hope you assholes stay away from Alex Box.

However, this would never work in football, but does in baseball.

typical rant thread. We start to talk about fans clapping a very great play by fielder or a pitcher or something and it turns into the stoney brook discussion.

I got an idea lets forget about last year and look forward to hosting a regional and hopefully a super regional.

Victory lap = celebration.
The fans ran around the stadium? I thought it was the Stony Brook players that ran around the stadium for the victory lap.

You're right; LSU fans coming out of the stands to run around the stadium in a victory lap after we lost are really dumb.

I thought you were complaining about fans shaking hands with opposing players and congratulating them on their win, like the ones in that picture seem to be doing.

That's like saying you went to a wedding and never set foot on the dance floor so you weren't a part of the celebration.

They took a victory lap to celebrate and tiger fans were a part of that. If not for those fans, no victory lap, no celebration.

Also, pretending to be an oblivious moron doesn't absolve you from still being an actual moron.

I know you're trolling, but the point of this is the difference between recognizing a good play or performance with applause (which I'm all for) and actually being happy for another team and helping them celebrate their victory right after a super regional loss.
