Enough of the RS shite. Its painfullyfrickingobvious they aren't going to use him as a QB. Why do you guys keep crying about it when its just not going to happen.

(a) Whichever one you trust the most not to dick up the clock management. The fact that the coaches either don't know this or trust the wrong guy is shameful.

(b) what Chicken said.

They should have made whatever decision they were gonna make (QB-wise) when the penalty was being called that gave us the first down at the 2.

There is no way I would throw it in the end zone right there (see first down attempt with the heavy pass rush and see previous throw into the end zone that was picked). You have a guy who was SEC offensive player of the week - RUN THE BALL and you're two yards away. Why risk a sack, intentional grounding or pick? JL did the smart thing and threw it away.

As for clock management - JJ is awful with that if he has to improvise. However, he's fine as long as you get the plays in to him. We barely ever have delay of game penalties with him...I'll give him that.

JL had no clue that the clock had hit zero on a 4th & 9 with the game on the line. And we followed up the penalty by having to waste one of our timeouts. That's awful game management from the QB and coaches. However, he followed that up with a beautiful pass conversion on 4th and long.

If we let games come down to the last seconds - we're basically F'd because nobody manages anything right in that situation. It's been proven.

I understand why they put JJ in after the incompletion because Tennessee had to worry about him taking the ball and it gave us more options running. Of course Tennessee knew we were gonna run after 1st down. So if you leave JL in there, it's even harder to get in running because they know to send the house at the RB in the backfield. With JJ, they had been burned before and had to key on him AND the RB. And we did eventually get in. But we barely got in...I think it would have been really hard to get in after the incompletion with JL in at QB and Tenn. knowing we were running. Then again, our coaches were so stupid that we might have passed again.

Because this is the rant. That's what we do here besides correct each others grammar.

Also, just because it won't happen with miles as HC doesn't mean that it shouldn't. Plenty of other schools do this very well.

Nice sig Tigerfan 555555 but if you have to elaborate on the sig for it to make sense then it's really not a great sig.

it was clear that Jefferson was throwing the ball better against Tennessee.

You have been riding JJ so long that you said Jefferson instead of Lee

Lee took you down the field...why not just leave him in? you have no timeouts, so passing to the endzone is the safer option.

This is the only acceptable answer

I'll elaborate even further. Lee is the only acceptable answer for the rest of the season!

It does not matter. Les is winning with which ever QB is in the game. Les is on a roll.

Exactly, When we were on the 3, I had much more confidence with Ridley running the ball straight into the heart of their D then JJ running to the sidelines

My only thought is realistically, from 2 yards out, any quarterback should be a running threat.

I would have kept Lee in there, but I thought putting JJ in, due to the running threat, was reasonable. Of course, the failure to call 2 plays or manage the clock is inexcusable.

One thing that the QB change showed is that our playcaller (I assume Crowton) has a tendency to outsmart himself. You can sub personnel after the incompletion if you want but making wholesale changes after a failed running play, with the clock ticking, is crazy!
