I was mad about that too but there was also small chance it would’ve made a difference. LSUs offense was dead that game.

Nothing worse than '94 Auburn. Total self destruction and the worst coach in the history of LSU and possibly the entire history of the SEC exposed. Curley was a pathetic excuse of a coach and a person (if the words of certain reliable folks are 100% true).

1998 Bama. We had them for the first time since the 70's at home. Unreal.

The entire 98 season was disappointing for me.
Coming off 97 final ranking of #13, and a 9-3 record, I had hopes for 1998. Then Quincy Carter exposed our secondary in the UGA game and it seemed everyone else followed suit and we finished unranked with a 4-7 record. I had to live off of moral victories that year. I found myself saying "well, we were within 1 score of victory" 5 out of the 7 times.

Coming off a 5-6 record in 1993, I had no expectations for 1994. Even though 5 of the 7 losses were within 1 score.

2012 Bama was the worst I’ve ever lived through, but ‘08 Bama is underrated. Saban’s return to DV. On my knees praying for a block during the entire commercial break. RJF for the block and DV comes absolutely unglued as the Tigers force OT.

Aaaaand INT in the end zone, game over.

What made the 2005 Tennessee game so awful is that we were totally in command and completely imploded after halftime

We had a 21 point lead but 1 TD was a int in the Tennessee end zone and another was a 19 yard run Addai after a turnover. I don't think we were in control so much as got 2 lucky TDs. Once Tennessee stopped turning the ball over deep in their own territory is when the game "flipped".

Then there was all the external distractions the campus being home to how many refugees, 3 games, including this one moved or postponed in the first month, disrupted practices and many players who's families were displaced/flooded, but i know that's just making "excuses" for Les.

So if you want to see it as a gut retcher, terrible loss, that's your prerogative, but like it said there have been worse since and the 2 in the OP were way worse, even though 1 of those turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

2014 Alabama
That stupid out of bounds kickoff was the worst thing they could have done. Then all LSU needed was ONE tackle in bounds on that last Alabama drive and the game was won. They just couldn't do it.

2012 Bama still hurts.

But 2006 Auburn was ultimately a worse loss. That game was stolen. If LSU wins there, we get another shot at Florida and then a NC shot.

If LSU beat Alabama in 2012, LSU would have played Georgia in the SECCG. Wouldn't have even needed JFF-led aTm to beat Bama the next week like they did.

So, both of those games cost LSU a chance at SEC Championship and National Title.

Auburn 1994 without a doubt. All we had to do was run the ball and punt in the 4th quarter and we win easily. Most frustrating game I have ever watched as an LSU Fan!

‘98 Bama

Fluke win for Bama.
Kept the win streak at Tiger Stadium alive and Bama was sing8ng “we can’t lose in Baton Rouge.”
My brother left the stadium early when LSU was on the goal line to put the game away. He missed the interception (Booty should have caught the ball.)
The loss left Herb Tyler in tears.

There are two games that LSU was simply dominated and both were at home. 1988 vs. Miami and 2002 vs. Bama. Those games were very gutwrenching. Both were pretty good LSU teams. But the one that hurt me the most was 1979 USC. The better team lost that night and had no business being within 5 points of such a talented team.

1998 was pretty rough, 1999 vs Bama was another one that doesn’t get talked about much. All Booty had to do was throw the ball and we win. I was only 2 for the 94 auburn game so don’t really recall it.

2012 Bama was a punch to the freaking stomach

Would’ve changed the entire trajectory of the season. Barring some kind of collapse we go to Atlanta again and who knows from there. Possibly could’ve been us vs Notre Dame in Miami

I agree. If you were in college at that time or just a fan in the nineties.
Auburn game was bigger than the Bama game that decade.
Auburn game sucked. Only good thing was it gave us one more reason to get rid of a terrible football coach. Curley Hallman.

Mathematically you’re right, but 2012 never looked like a legit NC team. The offense was not as good as it should’ve been. Ended up with 3 losses, whereas 2006 finished strong at 11-2 and one of those games was stolen.
