Enjoyed the game, but was a bit puzzled about the lack of pass defense. It seems Russell had an awful lot of time to throw the ball.

I agree. Its like it disappears at times, just like in other games this year.

No pass rush and a good qb equals bad pass defence

Moo st's o line had only given up 8 sacks all year. They held their own versus our pass rush but we eventually got to him.

State can't run so we sat back and kept everything in front. Held them to 17 points with one of those TD's on a short field.

Pass rush was non-existent. (except for end of game) Russell picked apart our soft zone. I was infuriated watching our defense last night. Game wasn't truly over until the Loston pick.

On the other side though, Mett is looking better and better and that's a very good sign. (especially for next year).

Russell was crazy accurate. Many of those throws were like lasers to where only his guy could get it. Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due.

Also, no holding penalties that I remember being called. That never helps. Mingo was being held on that fumble play he nearly scooped up. There was another hold that should have been called against the guy blocking Bennie in the 2nd half that had me screaming at the TV.

D took a game off for the first time in a while and the O came through. Nice balanced team now.

Miss State has a great O-line. They played extremely well and with a lot of want.

combination of short passes. quick decisions by Russel on changes at the line basedon the d. soft corner play. lack of rush time. didn't notice a lot of holding though.
I think if they run more, they lose worse. this team struggles with a 2 min type offense. Not spread, but 2 min. weird...

We basically held them to 10 points.

I am so proud of the tigers but the Moo St. qb had way too much time to throw the ball, but Lsu offense did fine. I still don't think Lsu has had a complete game yet. Maybe against O'L PISS!

Moo State can't run, so it looked like the game plan was to rush four and play coverage to keep everything in front of the defense. Makes sense if our offense is productive. D-line couldn't get pressure, so Russell had all day to throw.

Also, I don't think that there was a high level of intensity on D.

This is far from correct. They can run, but was without a guy that has nearly 900 yards rushing.

High Roller you make a good point that I hadn't given much thought to. Honestly I haven't thought our D has been as lights out as we are used to seeing, I guess we've been spoiled. Bama ran the ball on us way to effectively and tonight, except for the one drive, our pass rush was ineffective.

Giving up 10 points essentially to the grinders isn't anything to be ashamed about
