Where does Tre's play rank

Among the great plays in LSU baseball history?
Everything about that play was precision-perfect. His decision to go "all-in" on charging the bunt. Fielding it cleanly and using his momentum to push the ball to Milazzo as quickly as possible, and delivering it in the perfect spot to allow the catcher to turn and tag out the runner.
And it was a high pressure moment on the biggest stage in college baseball.
Tommy's home run is what everyone will remember, but in terms of greatness, Tre's play was better. Tommy did what Tommy does routinely, which is to knock the cover off the baseball. What Tre did was exceptional in the moment and we'll never see that again.

Show me some better.
The play was good but the situation when it happened made it historic

On the defensive side of the ball I can think of none better or more consequential

Ray Wright’s catch is the only one comparable
Tre’s play was more difficult though

Tre did what Tre routinely does. He’s the best first baseman in the country.
Both were exceptional.

Without that tag at plate Wake would have won game 1-0 and no extra innings and no walk off homer.

I don’t think pressure gets to Tre.

Tre made a play to end a game last year
I think someone threw wild to first and the base runner turned to second. Tre made a sliding scoop and throw to second and got him.
I can’t remember what game it was.

I don’t know about that. How many times have you legitimately seen a LSU player rob a for sure home run? Very few times.
I’m not saying Ray’s catch was better than Tre’s play at home, but the degree of difficulty was very high on that Ray Wright catch.
Another play in that LSU vs Stanford 2000 Championship Game was Blair Barbier making a sliding back hand right on top of the 3B line, then getting up and throwing a strike to 1B to get the third out, stealing for sure at least one run (a runner was on 3B) and possibly more.
Man, LSU really pulled a rabbit out of a hat to come from behind to beat Stanford and win CWS #5.

Re "his decision..." Tre has said that CJJ called that bunt defense from the dug out, he acknowledged it, & took off just as Skeen's foot left the rubber. Tre definitely executed it but it was CJJ's call that initiated the play.

#1 all-time! Without that we don't win.

I can't remember what level of postseason it was, and it wasn't as impactful on the outcome of the game, but the play that Bregman made ranging to hos left on a ground ball that he fielded on the other side of 2B, pirouetted and threw a strike to 1st sticks out in my memory.
Leon Landry had a few phenomenal catches in Center. Jared Foster's 9th inning catch against aTm.

Jeter esq. circa playoffs against the A’s as far as special factor. Just don’t see that play made…. ever

I’ve seen a ton of outfielders make a similar catch to Wright’s
Haven’t seen many like The Tre Play (tm)

Trey moved into the first round of the draft with that play.

Dunno why you got downvoted, friend. You are 100% correct.
And actually Tre was late getting started if one really wants to be picky about it. Play became a lot closer than it needed to be.

I was sitting front row in right field with paint boy. Literally could have caught the ball myself. Anybody that was there knows what I’m talking about.
We were sitting there in the 8th depressed, down, bummed about the 18 hour drive back after zero sleep the night before. And then the 9th inning happened. Unreal experience I’ll never forgot.
