It’s obvious we can turn transfers into Heisman winners, do you think an LSU recruited QB will win one?

When the program is so good that even an average QB has us in national championship contention.

Nuss is up next. Really hoping he’s been working hard with JD5 and the magic wall of QB development to be ready for 2024

I think by the numbers it’s really hard to do.

Don’t worry about that.

We’ve won championships with Flynn and Mauck.

Just win.

We’ve grown champions with just recruited 25 man commits.

We are fine. Just celebrate man that decided to be a tiger.

You're predicting it will happen in 2003 and again in 2007?

Transfer is the name of the game. Penix and Nix were also transfers. 5 out of last 6 Heisman winning qbs have been transfers

With the portal we have no need to home grow.

To answer your whiny bitch post though it’s Underwood.

Troll. Who cares if they are not “homegrown”. Give house credit for reshaping a running qb into an unbelievable passer. Same thing for Burrow.

Did we not recruit them while they were in the transfer portal?

And it's not like Burrow and Daniels (Mett and Etling for that matter as well) didn't develop during the time they were here.

Unlikely due to transfer portal and young players not being patient enough to wait their turn in most cases of great QBs coming out of HS not wanting to compete and stick with original team

Neither of the Oklahoma Heisman QBs were home grown. Caleb Williams wasn’t. Penix wasn’t. Nix wasn’t. Cam Newton. Justin Fields. Russel Wilson. Zach Mettenberger. You could argue that focusing on the secondary market for QBs while spending resources in spots other than homegrown talent evaluation, recruiting, and development is the far more efficient and likely successful way to approach it.
