When will LSU get rid of the bleachers?

One noticeable thing after watching the games was how nice Ole Miss’s stadium looks compared to Alex Box. It’s mainly due to them having actual seats along both lines. You don’t realize how much of an eye sore it is.

Will LSU ever make the upgrade. Of course they need to move the bullpens too, but that’s a different issue.

I’d love to be able to grill and watch the game at the same time.

No.

Not unless they give a better upgrade to the seats closer to the plate. It’s all about tiers with LSU. “Pay more to get better seats”

Now the outfield has some potential. But the fact that it’s flat and we have the utility building and train tracks really limits what we can do back there.

Ole miss stadium is not nicer than Alex box. Just got back. Maybe the bleachers do suck but that can be fixed. Maybe it looks nicer but it’s really not

The train tracks aren’t nearly as close as you think they are.

There is absolutely zero about LSU that makes you think they will ever allow this. The obsession with a berm on this board needs to go away.

Art that’s what I said “looks nicer” than Alex Box. Metal bleachers are for high schools or small colleges. Not for a school with multiple national championships.

Just got back from watching Texas vs Oklahoma in Austin. We sat on the 3rd base side in the outfield. It was nice to have actual seats. Texas' stadium isn't bad at all. They have tons of standing room space with food trucks inside the stadium.

The more baseball stadiums I see the more I dislike LSU's.

LSU went first in the baseball stadium wars and prioritized nostalgia. They reimagined the old Box with a club and suites. The new stadium was never focused on most of the fans. It was to extract more out of big spenders. We also went cheap and didn't even finish out what we did invest in.

Most in conference new stadiums came after and focused on broader experiences. They didn't slavishly attack the project by saying how do we remake our old stadium but for some rich people too.

I think the thing that may hinder getting rid of bleacher is capacity. I don't know for a fact, but I'd assume if they removed bleachers and added individual seats, it'd reduce the capacity of the box some. More butts can fit across a row of bleachers than individual chair back I'd assume

You probably lose a couple hundred seats but you can make that back by adding a party area

Well, that was the wrong approach even in 2009. Why remake something that is already outdated? This was your chance to think outside the "box."

The Box still looks like a tacky mess though

When they move the bullpens, bleacher reconfiguration will have to happen.

You mean in the outfield? I think there's probably plenty of room on either side of the batter's eye to put bullpens. It's pretty much just storage back there now

In right center yes. But in left center no.
Just me looking from my seats.
I could be wrong.

Why? This seems like a weird obsession. I have never once entered a ballpark and wished I had lugged my grill and a bunch of food into the park with me.
