The old school player subservience will never come back. Coaches have to relate better with these players. Players aren’t as poor and backward as they used to be and they’re social media savvy and better exposed to the world. I actually respect them for it. And I’m old school
Were they "subservient" or just appropriately humble?
It's a nuanced situation, and I agree we should not make the error of forgetting that they are their own people and don't exist for our entertainment, but I don't blame people who are turned off by the extent to which things have shifted to a "me-first, got to get my money" mentality.
I also don't really blame the players for it. I know we feel school pride and want to believe this is all about more than money, but the fact is that the administrators and coaches treat it like a for-profit business. When the coaches are building generational wealth for coaching unpaid athletes, you can't blame the athletes for being disillusioned.
I do agree it's up to the coaches to figure out how to deal with all of this, and I don't know that we have the coaching staff to do it on a consistent basis, although we've seen that if everything lines up correctly, it can work out.

Can someone translate that? What the hell is he even saying?
I guess he is trying to quote lyrics from a "lil durk" song. Interesting song choice for someone who stays "prayed up" and is constantly putting the glory to God
quote:
Don't talk about bitches in my past, you know that pussy old
You can go out of town for a hunnid days, I know that pussy closed
You ain't gon' play, you gon' bring my drugs, make sure that cookie rolled
Come around my dawgs, ain't tryna kick it, playin' that sister role
Even on bad terms, ain't no giving out information
They ask me something I won't respond, that shite verification
You get mad when I nonchalant, 'cause I don't be thinking it's major
They be mad I'm nonchalant 'cause I don't respond to them haters, uh (woo, yeah)
When you put numbers on true love you can't fake the amount
And I'm worldwide with who I love this not a fake account
I cover your mouth when we frick, 'cause you hate to shout, mm, mm

Sure thing, give everyone a trophy. Defund the police, La will be underwater tomorrow, Did you vote Biden also?
Ever think about the cost of everything those players have access to? Training, Medical, Food, Technology, Tutors, Tuition, with the opportunity to get a degree or be a pro athlete.
Above all NOTHING IS FREE.

When Coach checks out, so do the players.

A coach needs more than cliches to make it work.

Saban is an not O. He is football 24/7. Unlike O. O got the big contract, divorced and running young stuff. O is done.

I can live without football. Can the players?
Can Ryan Clark and the other SJWs on ESPN?
Several of them just lost their jobs. They better get WOKE about life, and not fun and games.

It does seem that CEH, JB, JJ, PQ, and others set the tone last year. There is just no way we have this big of a drop off if we had the leadership we need this year.
How bout that stat?
