When Myles was in the portal did he not have offers from FCS schools?

Someone told me he didn’t even have offers from smaller schools that’s the reason he decided to come back to LSU, anyone know this to be true? Or he really wanted to go home and play for Southern Miss but they didn’t want him.

Incorrect,
I know someone close to Myles that mentioned Ole Miss lock, but then the QB carousel began and he chose not to go there because of other QBs on the move...

There are multiple schools Myles could have gone and played for. Who ever told you that has no clue what they are talking about.

From my understanding he had an offer at Southern Miss but wanted to play at the highest level.

He definitely could have gone to ole miss
Otherwise, I think Oklahoma state wanted him

People were saying Nebraska as well

I don’t think anyone has ever claimed he couldn’t go to a lower level
But I don’t think he had nearly the options being laid out in this thread. USM was an option but obviously not a very attractive one. That’s the level of options he had out there, which is why it was possible for us to convince him to come back.

He did NOT have any major college offers in the portal nor should he have. He’s not dedicated to football and never has been. That doesn’t make him a bad guy just means other teams heard the same rumors we’ve been discussing for 6 years now about his motivation.

Don’t believe everything you here lol.
He could have went to Southern Miss or a few other G5 schools.
He can easily go play for an FCS school like a Northwestern State or Nicholls but that’s just not what he wants to do. Can’t fault him for doing what he wants.

Dude needs to come to Thibby town and play for the Colonels and light it up for one year.

Anywhere he went he was going to have to compete for a job. Just because and Ole Miss or Nebraska was interested doesn't mean he would have ended up the starter.
Also, I am not sure about his NIL deals but becoming the starter here could have become more lucrative if he already had some deals in place.

He entered his name into the portal in early November. Given the 2021 season was still in full swing, I'd imagine a lot of teams were still in the process of evaluating their roster for next season and there wasn't a ton of certainty...which as a potential transfer is what you are looking for.
Kelly was hired in early December. Within a week LSU's starting QB (Johnson) had entered the portal and LSU's other QB (Nussmeier) was skipping the bowl game to preserve his red shirt, almost certainly to allow him to fully evaluate his future plans. With the prospect of LSU only having a true freshman (Howard) on the roster at QB, LSU probably looked like a pretty good destination as opposed to some other options. Brennan was familiar with the school and team, so coming back at that time made sense.
After that the situation began to change. Nussmeier decided to remain at LSU. A few months later a 3 year P5 starter (Daniels) became available.

Southern Miss wanted him if that counts.

He could go to Auburn and beat TJ Finley again.
