Sorry but he hasn't finished his coaching career at LSU...if he runs off 3-4 losing or .500 win seasons and gets fired how can you say he is the best ever?

Yea, that's going to happen. When giant squid fly out of your arse.

the coach with the most NCs, SEC titles, wins, and win % as the best coach in that schools history.

Plus, that coach did all that when the SEC was the most dominate college football conference in the game. The teams in the SEC have been stronger, harder to compete against, from 05 to 2010 or 2015 than they were from 2000-2004.

He means your assumption of nickthemidget winning titles if he had stayed here is total bullshite.

You saying he wouldn't have??????? I guess we will never know.... BUT what he has done at Bama makes me think that LSU would have been just fine had he stayed..........

Les MIles = Bobby COX. LSU has had the best talent in league for years except at Qb and Miles won only 1 NC. Sabin being smarter would have won atleast 3 more

He is right now.

I think it would be an argument between him and Saban, but Saban has cost us more championships that he won while he was here.

I think that takes him out of the running.

In spite of his sometimes frustrating foibles, he already is for me. 10 years with 10.3 wins per season, 3 West titles, 2 SEC titles, 1 NC plus a runnerup. Loved Cholly Mac and Dietzel and always will but Les has a longer period of excellence than anyone else and he's proven that his players come first before any personal desires or goals he may have.

I am saying just what he said. You can't make that assumption because, as you say, we have no way of knowing.

No, it means you are having some kind of mental breakdown if you really think what you wrote of could actually happen.

Despite the 1/9/2012 game, a legit argument can be made that the 2011 team is the greatest LSU team in history. On that basis alone, that puts Les at the top of the list, for me.

this is true. saban had a chance to be LSU's legendary coach and blew it. had he would've stayed, he'd already be our "bear" by now.

les will eventually claim this title if he can get at least one more title.

We win 2011 if not for Saban. I know Les had some say in the matter, but actively coaching against LSU hurts your "greatest LSU Coach" chances.

Many were worried about someone who could fill Saban's shoes when he left, and at this point it's pretty clear Miles did a fine job at that. Could Saban have done better? Nobody will ever know. But we do know that the program is consistently competing near the top and nobody is worried that CLM is going to get caught riding a motorcycle with someone on his staff.
