No statue...

maybe rename south stadium drive "Les Miles Dr", or "les miles field @ tiger stadium" or "les miles stadium club"

He's probably will get a freakin statue, though a bust would be less stereotypical...

Hal Hunter was LSU's winningest coach at 100%. But I guess he doesn't count since he was just an interim coach????

His chance to get a second NC was last year with UF down, Auburn down and MSU and OM not even competitive. With Florida rising, Saban entrenched and potentially Petrino at Auburn, I don't see him winning another one.

ETA- my phone autocorrected Saban to satan, that's fitting.

A lot of fail in this.

NICHOLSON DRIVE in front of the statium becomes "The Les Miles" or we have Les Miles Field at Tiger Stadium.

(Yes, I know alot of you hate this idea)

No statute. We are not Bama.

But Miles haters...get ready....cuz he will leave LSU as the school's ALL-TIME WINNINGEST COACH....both in number of games and in maintaining his current position as highest winnging percentage coach. Prepare your therapy...you prozac scripts.....your Johnny Walker Blue....whatever. This will happen

So you think it will be easier to win one now? I'm dying to hear this.

He has as many titles as anyone else and has one of the highest win totals. He could easily retire from LSU with multiple titles and the highest. I'm with you, if he does that, let's get him a statue.

Except for one thing. I want the Ole Miss 2012 press conference pose enshrined. It would be just goofy enough to capture him perfectly.

I didn't say it would be easier, I said there was a lot of fail in it.

I'll explain why:

quote:

It was his last chance? Forever?

According to your post, you seem to be insinuating that he can't be Florida when they're a good team. He beat them when they had Tebow. Actually, the year TT won his Heisman.

Auburn will be down again. Doesn't matter who they hire. If it's Petrino, he's beaten Petrino a few times. He's a good coach but it's not like the two haven't met before.

And MSU is our proverbial whipping post. Ole Miss? I'll grant you, we didn't play our best game in that game and also that Hugh Freeze has turned that program around in a hurry, however when it's at the bottom of the barrel like it was when Houston Nutt left, a halfway decent coach could improve it (not taking anything away from HF).

If you want it to be a cake walk to the National Championship game, that's not going to happen but I like LSU's chances in all of these games next season. The A&M one as well. The Bama game will be tough, as always but that's nothing new. It's tough for Bama too.

That's my take on it. But feel free to ignore it and believe what you want. Keep on hating the guy for whatever reason. Because he looks weird when he claps and he's not the best public speaker. Good reasons.

I think lss in the power clap woudl be a great statue. We do have a statue of Shaq outside out basketball facility. I think Les could use a statue if he win another BCS. MAybe even Skip while were at it.

Not to nitpick, but Florida lost four games that season to Auburn, LSU, Georgia, and then the bowl game against Michigan.

At UL Lafayette they recently put up their first statue in the football stadium, "Blackjack" Landry, the former equipment manager who died of cancer a few years ago. Personally I appreciate that the equipment manager got a statue before any coach, booster or star player.

I'm not into hero worship, but if you feel you have to give a statue to someone, I guess Miles would be OK after a 15-20 year career and a couple of NCs.

LSU will give him one when he is done.

Bama is building one now next to Saban for the guy who does their SEC East scheduling.

Outside of last year, Les had lost at least two games a year. Our conference schedule was a little bit down last year because teams that are normally competitive we not (although to be fair we had a tough out of conference schedule). I think the conference, or at least the teams we play every year, is getting considerably better and based Les' past 8 years I don't expect him to run the table or even finish with one loss. People do not realize how lucky 2007 really was.

If you have to ask, then it's not deserved. If he duplicates his success over the next 7+ years, we likely won't have to ask if he deserves is.

Reality is a street name, fieldhouse name, etc.
