I'd rather have one of him digging in his ear.

Since when do we copy Bama? Of all the coaches that would deserve one, Miles would be it...but do not copy Bama!

In 2007 the west was horrible, the second best team was Auburn with 4 losses. We lost to two crappy teams. Les won't win anther SEC championship

I'm not a fan of the statues. If you look at some other universities that have done it (Not Alabama) it becomes a political nightmare of who can donate the most money to get who they want up as a statue next. Then what do you do if they leave and go someplace else or do something that would warrant taking it down.

Not a fan of people statues - they don't look good, and it's too hard to draw lines of who does and doesn't get one (players, coaches, etc etc).

And besides, I don't think it's possible to capture Les Miles in something immobile that isn't speaking - need the hand clap, grass eating, have a great day, no such thing as a flop - you know, the real Les Miles!

Miles only needs 53 more wins to get to 138 - 7 1/2 wins a year through the end of 2019 gets him there.

Something that hasn't been discussed - Miles has passed Bernie Moore in both overall and conference wins to be in second place, and is only 13 conference wins from catching Mac, something that can be done in 2 or 3 more seasons.

Which is another remarkable stat by Mac - Mac has more conference (60) wins than any other LSU coach had overall wins, except Bernie Moore and Les Miles.

Instead of a statue a good fit might be a wall/display area with a plaque of some of the better coaches at LSU. You could Miles up there and Bertman, and some of the other coaches thru the years without it being overpowering.

North stadium drive will be named after him and maybe the field.

Statues are creepy, e.g., Joe Pa. Have we learned nothing? Some form of plaque near the stadium or renamed field, street is better.

His chance to get a second NC was last year with UF down, Auburn down and MSU and OM not even competitive. With Florida rising, Saban entrenched and potentially Petrino at Auburn, I don't see him winning another one.

ETA- my phone autocorrected Saban to satan, that's fitting.

Sadly, I agree.

Ole Miss and MSU are very competitive again and only getting better.

Auburn/Arky will be turned around overnight with a new coach due to them actually having pretty good talent.

Bama will be Bama for at least another 5-7 years.

TAMU is a top 10 team again.

UF is obviously going to be an annual pain in the arse like it used to be.

We have to play all these teams EVERY frickKING YEAR. We may not see another NC for a looong looong time.

frick THE SEC WEST.
