Art Cantrell's career at LSU may have been a short one had ESPN and the internet existed during his time in Baton Rouge.

Bar room darwinism.

I was as mouthy and drunk as any 20yo in my day but I wouldn't have, in a million f'ing years, mouthed off to some stud football player. Pick your battles for chrissakes. And if you want to test your mettle and get your arse kicked, go home, nurse your wounds and, hopefully, learn from your mistake.

What is this strange, exotic RULE OF LAW about which you speak ? And will you regale us savages here in The Hinterland with further information about your Customs and Laws so that we too may familiarize ourselves with The Social Contract and move into The Light?

What does any of that have to do with whether athletes should be punished for throwing their weight around and getting into fistfights with regular joes?

And a poor reflection on Lester Fudd Miles. If we were properly chastened, and had a sense of shame, we'd all set our hair on fire in unison at halftime of the first home game, in righteous protest.

I thought suspending Hill indefinitely was a pretty good chastening. Les Miles kicks off even high profile players off of his teams more that our other SEC bretheren do (IMHO)

I can assure you things like this have been going on in college athletic departments for years, you just didn't hear about them in the past and you still don't hear about everything today.

I suggest you consult a criminal defense attorney regarding the laws pertaining to assault. The last I checked, athletes don't get a free pass.

Yeah and Bleacher Reports and Tiger Hype on FB don't have the name of the guy that was calling him the Nwerd and the name of the guy who taped it posted on them right now because naming the accuser would be wrong...

oh wait.

No...but when I broke laws, I paid the price. (No assaults, I'm non-confrontational)

Regular Joe's don't usually have much to lose. Athletes however...well, ask Hill.

I don't get this! Don't get me wrong I don't support Hill's actions, but I have always gone by the motto, "talk shite, get hit!" I was a mouthy drunk, but even while drunk I knew who to pick fights with. Again don't support Hill here, but if you are dumb enough to pick a fight with someone like Hill you deserve to get your arse kick!!!

Now we think people should "get what they deserve"?
Then Hill should be in jail, considering he has twice knowingly broken the law and been caught.
