He was high on my radar last hiring cycle. Pretty much after Lincoln Riley at the time but I knew woody wouldn’t go after him bc he wasn’t “big” enough then.

Thought his personality a perfect fit and could do big things at lsu.

4 years later and even more confident he is the man for the job. Gonna be a fun next few years with him.

Bk make football painful to watch but that’s gonna change now.

I havent changed my mind. But he is our coach, love him or hate him!
I thought he was stuoid to leave Ole Piss and thought that place was the perfect fit for him. Everything he did and does reminds me of an Ole Piss Frat boy! Hes still super immature and its shows. The best offensive mind with Joe Brady a clise 2nd that weve had at Lsu. Know lets go get Durkin if Baker Leaves and win some championships

I never changed my mind. I didn't like him because he was on the other sideline.
The guy has always been a good coach and a great play caller.
The narrative on Kiffin has always been skewed because of his style and his being brash and being immature. However, I Spurrier was the same way he just manifested it differently.
He didn't fail at Tennessee. He had a good first season and should've been beaten eventual NC Bama.
He didn't fail at USC. The Reggie Bush scholarship penalties submarined his last two years.
He was just the fix Saban needed at Alabama.
He crushed it at FAU and Ole Miss.
I wished he could have been at LSU much sooner.

When he accepted the LSU job!
It has been a miserable season, hard to watch most of the games with our unproductive offense and some flashes of excellence from the defense. It was the kind of season that got me and many more fans, I'm sure, looking to basketball with hopes of success for the women and the men.
I always despised him for his lack of committment to the program he was at by leaving midstream, so to speak. But now, if he can come to Baton Rouge and take us off of life-support, I'm his biggest fan!

Most of us wanted Lane when O was here. I thought what he did at FAU was impressive. They had never even had a winning season and he wins two conference titles and 2 10 win seasons n 3 years. I remember a good portion of our fan base wanted Lane then. Ive always felt lane was perfect for LSU.

I wanted him or Riley in 2021. Think we dodged a bullet with Riley but he still would've been better than Kelly. Hated that hire from day 1 and have referred to it as the Brian Kelly Error since. I thought he was an overrated coach from an overrated school that plays a weak schedule every year which inflated his numbers. Plus he's a prick in general.

Still on the fence, but will support him. Respect him as an offensive coordinator and play caller.. Not crazy about a head coach that tweets too much.

Feel the same way about presidents.

I still haven’t.
But he’s our coach and I’m an LSU fan first.

He is going to have to learn to trust his defense more, much in the same way Saban had to learn to trust his offense.

He checks 2 of my most important boxes. Mobile QB development and play caller. Head coach does not have to be the play caller, but it doesn't hurt.

Trusting him to be stable enough to be the face of your program is the biggest leap, and he managed that at Ole Miss

Found an old post of mine from when Kelly was hired. Still don't see why anyone thought it was a good hire. Should've hired Lane back then.

re: Kelly is a home run

In all of his time at ND he’s faced 11 top 10 opponents. His record against them is 3-8. Most of those losses by 14 or more. Miles had a better overall record at LSU than Kelly does at ND. What makes this a home run? Is it just because we were able to poach him from ND when no one though it was possible?

This, and same with Saban, but if he starts winning Championships, no one will GAS what I think, like usual…;)

I haven’t.

I didn’t like Kelly bc I thought he was too old and arrogant.

I don’t like Lane bc he spends too much time on social media and his teams are soft. He plays finesse football. He’s an older version of Kliff Kingsbury/Lincoln Riley. I don’t see that winning here.

I need a straight up tell it like it is a-hole like Cignetti or Dan Hurley. No players coach BS. If you’re paying 22 mils, better get the best coach in America. We didn’t

I wanted him four years ago. We'd be in a really great place if we had hired him instead of kelly.

When it became clear he is the absolute best realistic candidate in the country to fix our program. Everything else is secondary to that.
