When did the "go to hell" chants start?

And which side started it? It's been going on for as long as I can remember and quite frankly I enjoy it. Even though "Go to hell Ole Miss" does have a better ring than "Go to hell LSU."

No idea, been around since I was a kid, many moons ago.

I can't argue that which is why I said it's been going on for as long as I can remember.

I started attending (as a kid) in the mid-70's and remember it well. Hell, I remember fans yelling it on the way out of the stadium after every game the preceded the Ole Miss game.

Long before most of us were old enough to be legitimate, knowledgeable fans...our grandparents were telling Ole Miss to "geaux to hell".

Geaux to Hell Ole Miss - When LSU is playing their rival, Ole Miss, LSU fans shout "Geaux to Hell Ole Miss. Geaux to hell" frequently, and signs with the same saying can be seen throughout the stadium. Ole Miss fans typically respond with "Go to hell, LSU!" Legend has it this was started prior to the 1959 contest when Coach Paul Dietzel, trying to motivate his troops, hired a plane to litter the LSU campus with flyers saying, "Go to Hell, LSU!" When word of this reached Oxford, Johnny Vaught, not to be outdone, responded in kind by littering the Ole Miss campus with flyers saying, "Go to Hell, Ole Miss!" Saturday night, 30 minutes prior to kickoff, Tiger Stadium was already packed with the crowd split down the middle between Tigers and Rebels. Each set of fans were shouting at the top of their lungs to the other, "Go to Hell!" The tradition has stuck ever since.

At least the early 60's, when my parents were students.

No clue. I know some OM folks that say it at the end of the national anthem. But they hate LSU way more than I hate OM. I usually hate OM about 4th during preseason.
Bama
Auburn
Florida
OM
But I also usually hate whoever beat us the year before. I hate Wisconsin and Auburn currently for next year

I figured that. Was just curious as to which side started it and when.

When you take the Batesville exit off I-55, highway 278 is still littered with signs and banners saying "Go to hell LSU" during LSU week.

I didn't think I was certified to use this particular spelling/saying of "go." Sorry, I mean "geaux."

Back in the 50's-60's someone always hung a "Go to Hell Ole Miss" sign on the Hwy. 190 Amite River bridge. I believe the Ole Miss team came by bus in those days and drove right past it.

Florida is firmly established as my second most hated rival after the shite this season. And I think I consistently hate ole miss more than auburn.

I was in school in the very early 1960's
GO TO HELL OLE MISS.
I was offended initially. I didn't even believe in hell.
Think of how the Ole Miss fans feel, who traveled to Louisiana.
I remember some sorority girl trying to get her very drunk frat guy to stop.
