i have no doubt that there was a lot of venom in the 80s/90s. that was before my time
My point was to the OP, the views and attitude have not changed, just a different, more accessible forum to express them.

i was mainly restricting it to just this message board
its certainly changed as its gotten bigger and more popular. But the reason I signed up in the first place was to respond to the infamous "Voice of the LSU Nation" who was claiming there was no way "they" would let LSU play in the NC game in New Orleans, bad for business etc, etc.

also simple logistics must be taken into account. since 2003 this board has expanded by a large number
Yeah, that tends to happen when half the board is Bama, Auburn & Ole Miss fans. Maybe it shoudl be called the SEC RANT.

their presence on the rant led to the creation of the sec rant, and they mostly stick there
however, i bet you still think i'm a UF fan...or is it a USC fan...or is it a bama fan now?

fanbases are typically cesspools

Large number of people jumped off Miles bandwagon after Ole Miss debacle. It was in a word...inexcusable.
He has lost the benefit of the doubt with majority if fans. Once you lose that, it is all over.

Stanford?

But No. You have a huge hummer for Saban now, and Meyer is likely second. You are a "Fence Peeper" always watching what other teams are doing, and not paying attention to what's going on your own backyard. Somehow, you manage to explain away (read: excuses) a coach averaging 10.2 wins per season, which no other LSU Football coach has achieved.
You like teams..any team, that is winning big. Growing up in the 1990's & 2000's like you did..ESPN has done wonders. They tell you who is good & who you should like, and you agree.

Which LSU Football Coach's team scored the most amount of points in 1 season, in LSU Football history?

It seems that almost every post is a NEGATIVE one, hardly any positives......

but 2008 was a disaster and 2009 showed no improvement
08 was 7-5 in the regular season, 7th in the SEC, and non-ranked.
09 was 9-3 in the regular season, 3rd in the SEC, and nationally ranked.
If that is your idea of "no improvement", I can only hope we have the same amount of "no improvement" coming our way from 09 to 10.

I'm just trying to figure out exactly when our fanbase went from a cohesive, positive support unit to a collection of jaded, miserable vultures with an absurd sense of entitlement.

but there is a snowball effect with miles that is growing and growing
And Miles' incompetence is not the only thing stoking the fire. The preposterous contract that was drafted by Skipper and the Rocket scientist and then ratified by the best and brightest in the state, the BOS, only compounds the despair.

All I have to say about our fan base at football games is this:
It has changed. Not as fun. Not as fanatical. Not as loud. Not as dedicated.
Maybe this year will be different.

did you watch this team play in 2009? What gives you reason to think there will be improvement?

They are fans, and are "Passionate", but nobody knows what college team they pull for.
