I don’t believe I tied it to this year. But the spiral started in that offseason prior. Everything that happened last year was part of that

When he said or fired the only derogatory shot at the 2019 Team (Aranda) and said “This defense is better right now than at any time last year”, everything he’s done since has been a lie or mishandled

Wtf you talking about? Les stayed competitive for years after the title and brought them to another title game which granted they lost. But for the most part they won at a great rate until his final 2 or 3 years.

i would assume he means 2008, which was Les worst year, 7-5, 3-5 in the SEC, miracle win against Troy (maybe we should not schedule them going fwd ) he did improve the next year 9-3, 5-3 and 2010-2012 was an elite level run

But what happened with that divorce. In 2019 espn ran a special about how he was a family man and how he stood by her side during her health issues where she almost died. Now he divorced her and is chasing after women. It just makes no sense. in 2019 after every game she went to hug him after every game. Was that all fake?

agreed. Seems the divorce, and like others have said, maybe a return to his drinking days, has led him to return to the Ole Miss version of himself where he is overprotective and doesn't trust anyone, which in turn, ends up making terrible decisions.

Be patient? How about try opening your eyes??? Look how much money Oeaux has cost LSU in coaches buyouts??? If you count passing game coordinators Orgeron has been through more offensive coordinators than he has been years as HC at LSU. You can’t even give him 100% credit on the Brady hire he gets 50% credit at most! Remember it was actually Ensminger that identified Brady and told Orgeron he had to hire Brady. And let’s not forget, the reason Burrow even came down to see LSU was because of Bush who Burrow had a relationship with.

So please what Coach Oeaux has proven is that he is a great recruiter and DLine coach, but that is all!

We got a Natty out of this, so be happy for that, but it is time to send the Shrimp Boat Captain back to the bayou’s!!!

10 and 11 shouldn’t have happened under PM he wasn’t focused. I never said he didn’t get it back for a bit.

The same with les after 07 we had 08 and 09 then he turned it back around until 1/9

His little speed bunny doing her thing took him down . It’s obvious his entire demeanor changed. He’d been to the pinnacle what more could he accomplish?

Take your pick I say a lot of both.

It's not like Ed fell from grace, or that what we see now is an aberration.
Ed and Alleva asked the LSU faithful to suspend disbelief and believe that Ed Orgeron was suddenly a highly competent head coach deserving of a position with an elite program.
He has never been that.
A lucky confluence of Aranda, Brady (and Ensminger), together with a Burrow and a very experienced and talented roster made 2019 possible. Ed stayed out of the way long enough for it to happen,
When Brady, Burrow and Aranda left, all that remained was Ed.

When did Eds downward spiral start?

ignoring everything prior to the 2019 season, the downward spiral started Jan. 17, 2020.

no

absolutely. The new coach won’t have any ties to any of the QBs on the roster and will be able to have an objective QB battle while installing this new system.

When I saw the picture of O smiling in bed with the blonde, I thought “This is bad. He doesn’t have the discipline or focus.” No successful coach, especially one from a Power 5 conference would allow a photo like that to be taken.

I don’t know if it ever started as much as it was always there and burrow just masked it.

The Troy loss. Burrow fell in his lap and bought him a new contract and a couple of extra seasons. 2018 would've been a bad season had he not landed Burrow.

Y’all still don’t realize how good that 2017 recruiting class was, huh

Joe Burrow in 2018 wasn’t nearly as impactful to the results as he was in 2019. I don’t blame him but LSU’s 2019 team was full of dogs

The same way in 2 years, whoever the coach is, should have a championship caliber team

I think he let the natty get to his head is what happened. Ed might have been able to keep the ball rolling if he humbled himself and actually put the time in to do his job scouting the next best coaches, people with more experience than him. It’s not like we’d ever replace O if he was a winner. Leaving his wife, young poon, not taking the job seriously, so much to unpack that we’ve all seen.

I don't think he knows how to evaluate coaches. He calls Joe Brady and Pete Carroll and asks them who to hire.
