Seem to remember Bellichick couldn't win at Cleveland, but has done okay at another particular place. I won at USC and will win here. Nobody can win at OM without cheating. They fired the best coach they've had in 30 years and he's actually able to win at Duke.

Pollack is a contrarian at lot of the time, so I do 'f put a lot of stock in what he says. Herbie has never gotten over looking like an idiot with the the Miles to Michigan debacle, so he really doesn't like LSU. Who cares what's Corso thinks. We know why he's there, which is entertainment value. Reece is not as bad as you all make him out to be. We just need to win.

Don't you get it? He's just doing that to mask his hate for LSU. Can't make it seem too obvious. ESPN's entire purpose for existing is to be diametrically opposed to LSU's interests.

So you're telling me O was the best choice for HC?

Maybe he wasn't, time will tell.

Best choices in no particular order:

Saban
Meyer
Fisher
Swinney
Harbaugh
Stoops

For the personnel and talent at LSU the coaches above fit the best. For any school to hire away any of these they have to be willing to part ways with tremendous amount of money. Keep in mind two already quit LSU, one retired, one "retired" to escape the SEC and his players rap sheets, the other two have no desire to face what Alabama has every year.

The rest:

Herman Texas is what he wanted

Drawing blanks for any others, either way, after the best, any hire is a game of chance.

LSU ended up with a top recruiter/motivater and two coordinators with systems that have proven out with inferior perrsonel and talent, against superior personnel and talent.

These three coaches are in place with lots of room to pay the coordinators more. Orgeron's pay is locked in, he has nothing to leverage a raise with, everyone will know who is responsible for success.

In this thread O has been likened to Bear Bryant and Bellichick. Enough said.

You really need to let go of your resentment against LSU for the Coach O hire and just jump on board as a fan. It's over, it's done with, and there's not a fricking thing any of us can do about it.

Until the man has an absolute meltdown like Miles did several times, I'm pulling for him to succeed just as much as I'm pulling for LSU.

To see it any other way is being a miserable self loathing motherfricker.

When I hear people's rationale on why O was a good hire I just want to laugh. It's like I'm taking fricking crazy pills.

My argument to Rece Davis would be Aranda and Canada couldn't lead LSU the way that Orgeron can. These players respect the shite out of him so do other coaches. The only people who don't are our own fans (some not all) and these talking heads who love to speculate (talk out of their asses). They have no idea of the dynamic that is in that LSU football building. They will all find out tonight though. So will BYU. GO mother frickn Tigers!!!

if by not winning you mean took Cleveland to the playoffs for the 1st time in 2 decades and had Cleveland the # 1 defense in the nfl.

He took Cleveland to the playoffs. Now can we stop tying to compare a DL coach turned failed head coach turned DL coach turned head coach again to arguably the best coach of all time?
