Eh, my panties aren't in a wad, I've just seen LSURussian do some awesome shite in the Money board that an irrational out of touch person doesn't do/say.

It's cool. I'm probably a bit quick to call people out on the negativity these days. It was a bit thick in here after the season ended. I'm really looking forward to the start of a new year, and hopefully a new attitude along with it.

Hopefully. I'm any kind of tiger, I just call them like I see them. If JJ progressed, I think we're in for a really good year. If he didn't, it'll be the same stagnant offense as last year. None of us will really know if he did or didn't until that UNC game.

24-7 LSU, we're going to kick their arse. I have no doubt of it. UNC has one of the worst QB's in the country. It'll be easy to shut down their offense.

Just for shits and giggles, lets assume that we get the same offense that hit the field against UF last year. UNC probably isn't AS good as that defense, but close, so we score 13 instead of 3. The corners are manned up, and someone bites on a double move and Taylor misses a tackle. Thats 7 right there. Someone muffs a punt in our own 30. They get a field goal out of that. They beat our defense on two long scoring drives, and there you go. Thats 24 to 13 in pretty believable circumstances.

Unbelievable.

you missed the previous 14 threads on this topic.

North Carolina supposedly has a few high draft picks and they are all on defense.
Two of their best ones, including their MLB, may not play.

I have watched one of their games each of the past two years.
They are inconsistent, but solid. They had a top ten recruiting class two years ago. Those guys are sophs now.

You cant bet this game if you dont know who is playing.

The two guys who may not play are practicing with their 2nd team, due to the possibility they may not get to play.

LSU 20 NC 18, on a 48 yard field goal at the end of regulation.
Whew!

So losing by 2 TDs

24-14 is not two TD's. You must be out of practice in how points are scored in football....

31-13. Miles plans like his life depended on it.

Greg Little is Demaryius(sp?) Thomas. Shut him down like we did against GA Tech and we're all good. Yates is not good enough. Nevis gets to him twice, and the rest of th DL gets a piece.

UNC wouldn't score 24 on LSU's backup defense

They had a better offense than LSU did last year.LSU will be the one having trouble scoring points in this game. I have said this all along. You will NOT see anything different from last year on offense.

I think it's going to end up being around 19-14 UNC with us scoring late to make it that way (IF UNC is at full strength).

1) UNC's defense wasn't that impressive against any quality opponent.

2) UNC's QB threw more picks than TDs last year.

LSU will win this game.

The key, as we all know is our offense and specifically our offensive line. I don't care how good UNC's defense is, they won't be good if they stay on the field all day. 3rd down calls will be important so that we can wear them down. On the other hand, our defense will be fresh and will be loading up for the pass rush.

We win.

I have a want for a blowout, and I think I can feel it a'comin'. I feel it in my old bones. In fact, I dreamt of a 38 - 10 butt-whippin' of the TarHeels last night - it was like I was watching replays on a reel. Jefferson looked good and the defense, particularly the secondary, was ferocious.
I think this game will be as big of an earlyseason OOC game for LSU as the LSU/VT game was in '07.
Might even put the ol' lady and a few kids in the Chevelle and motor over to Atlanta to watch the arse-whompin' that's gonna happen.

I know last year's results have little bearing on this year, but here's my opinion:

UNC finished 8-5, with quality wins over #14 VT and #15 Miami, loses to #18 G-Tech, Virginia (??what'tha?), Florida State, and NC State (??what'tha???). Lost bowl to #16 Pitt.

LSU finished 9-4 in the undisputedly toughest conference in NCAAF. Quality wins against #14 UGA, Auburn, Arkansas. Of the 4 loses, only in one was LSU beaten soundly (and I thought LSU played a helluva lot closer than the score) by frickin' #1 Florida. Other three losses were squeakers going down to the last minute against strong teams and with an officiating call or two going LSU's way the outcome could have been much different - these were against #3 Bama, Ole Miss , and our bowl game against Penn State. If we were to have had comparable losses to UNC's, we would have had to been beaten by maybe Vandy and Washington - didn't happen.

This year, I feel LSU is even stronger and better prepared. JJ is ready (I hope)!! UNC - ? I dunno. Personally, I don't even think it's gonna be close.
