What’s your QB depth chart?

IMO:
1.) Nuss
-Great pocket presence & confidence. Can make plays with his feet & throws very accurate on the run. Also, throws with an accurate touch. Downfall is that he gambles at times.
2.) Daniels
-I can see him getting a lot of playing time even if he losses the spot. Badly inaccurate at times, but can turn a broken play into a 60 yd TD quick. Will be an asset either way. Bc of the inaccuracy, I’m not sure if he’s an every down guy.
3.) Brennan
-Has a cannon but doesn’t throw the deep with a lot of accuracy. His biggest downfall is that he has the zero pocket presence. Looks very uncomfortable and tense at times and cannot make plays with his feet. Is such a likeable kid that I root for, but I don’t see him winning the spot.
4.) Howard
-Too early to really tell, but excited about him. Saw him play a lot in high school. You can tell his is still learning. Can’t wait to see what he does once he is comfortable. In my opinion, he’ll be more in the mix in fall camp.

1. Nuss/Daniels/Brennan
2. Howard
JK, I think Daniels has a slight edge because of his running ability.
Wrs dropped 4 of his throws so he should've been 7/9 with 2 tds and a rushing td, so he wasn't really inaccurate
Nuss should've thrown a pick for sure (dropped by ward) but he looked elite
Myles looked good, but they used him for a bunch of checkdowns
Howard is super raw
This race is super far from over, Nuss won the day, but winning 1 glorified practice don't make you the frontrunner
If Nuss starts, i would like to see him tighten up some reads a bit
Fall Camp will decide this one

Based on today?
Nuss
Daniels
Brennan
Walker
Where I think it ends up?
Daniels
Nuss
Walker
Although I would not be surprised is Nuss wins the job.

If Nuss starts over Brennan we are toast

If a top 100 overall recruit takes a huge step in yr 2, and beats out a 6th yr sr, and an elite recruit who's started 3 yrs in the pac 12, with a head coach who is unbiased towards all 3 considering he didn't recruit any as freshman... your reaction is were toast??

Of course we’re toast. The random nobody on the internet said it so it must be gospel.

Abell we discussed this early. Can’t base off 1 spring game. Nuss played terrific, but ignoring and overlooking Brennan, is stupid.

How am I overlooking Brennan?
Go back and read my posts. I’ve addressed Brennan multiple times. Brennan is not “in his final form” I believe, so it’s hard to judge him today.
What I do know is that it’s very much a 3 qb battle still and if Brennan stays till fall and doesn’t start, his football career is over (barring an injury). Before I put Brennan on a depth chart, I want to make sure he stays. And I want to see him in his final form.
My first list was just based off of today’s performance.
But who gives a frick what I think anyway

Brennan is a practice warrior. He’s had multiple QBs come through and play over him. He doesn’t have the it factor and that’s okay. He will get playing time at a smaller school this year

Bingo. Of course Nuss looked better this is his second spring with most of these recievers. Jayden got here about a month ago and is still poised to be the starter that says a lot.

The same could be said about Daniels but carry on.

BINGO…he just don’t have it. I wish he did. He’s a likable kid who has done all the right things.
If the competition is close, you go always go with younger kid bc he’s got more time.

What if Brennan isn’t any good?

Brennan
Nuss
Howard
Daniels
Daniels is a project for Brian Kelly for next year. They are still working on his footwork and passing. He needs to bulk up a bit too.
