Everytime he gives a puzzled look at McAfee, I believe there is a chance.

Recruits are gonna line up to play for an 74+ yr old ex retired coach they know won’t be there after 1,2,3 yrs. It’s a stupid idea and would be a disaster, just like Belicheck.

The recruits who are in it for the money and dont plan on being here for more than 1 or 2 years? Those recruits?

. So he found Bama.

Bama "found" him and the AD told him the plane wasn't leaving Miami without him on it. Two weeks they worked on him from what I understand.

Why would he come to LSU?

If you still don’t know why after all the stories that’s been told about Sabans connection and love for LSU to this day and his regrets of leaving LSU then we can’t help you.

Saban is the greatest recruiter in CFB history (sez the Ol' Ball Coach) so he was rarely playing upwind with talent. After '07, you could count on one hand the # of games where he was at a talent disadvantage (us in '19, UF in '08, maybe '09, UGA more recently). But if Saban had not only a talent advantage, and was this X & O whiz, how the heck did he ever lose a game?

Why did he complain about up-tempo offenses? He should've just schemed 'em into oblivion. In '13, Auburn ran the same zone-read play like 40+ times and he never figured it out.

If there is indeed an opportunity under consideration, you have to remember that a 73-year-old woman will have a huge influence on the decision.

If a recruit stays 3 years now a days it isn’t for the coach, it’s for the school. That argument is dead. Just like large buyouts should be.

why wouldn't he be the first phone call? makes total sense to me. sure he's 74 but probably plays no older than the dunce we just had as head coach, and you know damn well he's a better coach.

He should stay on gameday. He has nothing left to prove and more money than he’ll ever need.

I think the interest and discussions were/are legit, now I had heard it was for AD only not the coach for 3 years then AD. But of course either way I'd have been ecstatic.

And I also of course heard the same as others as early as Friday, with the condition being Dalton as Prez. I think the fact that he was a late and unexpected addition to the list was either a HUGE coincidence or a sign wheels were in motion.

The Governor still wants Rousse, despite I would have to imagine knowing all this.

I've also heard this has led to attempts at a compromise with another position for Dalton in the hierarchy.....I have not heard how that was received.

I've learned to never get overly excited about a maybe in anything, much less a sport played by 18-22 year olds that are now getting paid to half arse it.
