He was a track star In high school.

To me, his Frosh Injury is what is keeping him back.

He was not very good last season

He was better than Berry and most importantly didn’t fumble

He gotten too big for his stature and lost a step in quickness, if not two. To bad our backs tend to want bulk rather than maintain the quickness that made them great.

Seems to be going that Justin Vincent route.

I thought after that South Carolina and Arkansas games his freshman year, we had a future All SEC RB.

He’s extremely fast

Yes, but when the pads are on, the extremely fast part goes away. It's like his speed didn't transition to when the pads are on. Maybe it was the injury.

I feel like a lot of people are miss reading Durham. He wasn't all that fast or explosive his freshman season. He just had good vision, great balance, and was very difficult to bring down. He had 450 yds after contact. That's where he made his money.

I'm sure his ankle injury lingered for the entirety of 2025, but we have no visual evidence that it's still holding him back. We'll find out more when he carries the ball this season.

He hasn’t been the same since he got hurt his freshman year. Looks like he lost a step.

I wonder how much of this was the injury vs maybe not being in the best conditioning.

His freshman year he played with an elite burst and was really tough to take down. There was a huge difference when he was in the game compared the the other running backs, yet Frank didn’t really lean on him like he should. Last year it was the opposite where he was sluggish and Berry was a massive change of pace. IIRC, he was able to play through the tough injury, so I don’t see how it was lingering a year later.

All of our RBs will be in a position to really succeed with Kiffin's offense. He always has a great rushing attack. And I think our OL is going to really surprise people.

We all know Seaton is highly regarded, but Bordelon has turned heads and I think Braelin Moore is an NFL center. If we can be "pretty good" on the right side, we should have a great year rushing.

Kevin Smith seems like he is a legit RB coach and he’s been pretty elite at uncovering underrated running backs and developing them. I think Jones coming in and immediately jumping ahead of guys like Berry and Durham proves that he does in fact know what he’s looking at….

Kiffin made a comment last week when a reporter said the OL was holding back the run game and he said “the running backs have to run the ball well too”. So obviously, the staff thinks the running backs had just as much to do with the poor run game as the terrible OL.
