One who has a proven history of making adjustments when the cupboard isn’t bare but shits the bed when injuries strike? (House)

Or someone with no DC experience but players would run thru the wall for him/her/it? (ERob) eta - could add daronte to this as well

Obviously, the proven recruiter, teacher, developer, that has the players respect wins out, but that’s not an option for this post.

And I agree. What House did last year was pretty solid.

Injuries give him a pass.

I want a great DC and average recruiter over a great recruiter and average DC.

Then surround him with recruiters.

Rebuild the D-Line
More blitzing up the middle
Make our safeties look halfway decent again

Generally, I agree. Here is my beef about House, and I’ll use Jayden Daniels as an analogy. Remember last year when Jayden barely had any interceptions, and CBK said that wasn’t a good thing? That he should be taking more risks downfield?

Well, the same goes for House this year. We had sub-par corners, but we hardly gave up any big hitters. We were too careful about protecting them. That took away any aggressiveness in blitzing and faking blitzes. I realize he had to do that, but I think he did it too much. If he would have dialed up the pressure we would have given up more huge plays, but maybe gotten more stops.

His defense wasn't good this year.

He gave up:
31 points to Florida
27 to Memphis
27 to Kansas State
49 to LSU
30 to Georgia

I'm giving it only a 20% chance we make a change at DC.

95% chance at least 1 defensive position coach gets the ax however.

Our guys do lack fundamentals AND we have scheming problems both need changes.

But I think blame is about to fall on the assistants... only.

My ideal situation would be the Saints lose every game from here on out, draft JD5, Dennis Allen loses his head coaching job, and BK pulls Dennis Allen to LSU as DC.....I can dream.

A HC/DC with Proven SEC Experience whose Defenses have performed at a high level.

He better know what he's getting into, knows the expectations and is ready, willing and able to take on the challenge.

SEC/LSU ready to hit the ground running.

Who checks those boxes?

Will Muschamp. (UGA Co-DC)
Glenn Schumann. (UGA Co-DC)
Blake Baker. (Missouri DC)
Barry Odom. (UNLV HC)
Kingdave Aranda. (Baylor HC currently)
D.J. Durkin (Texas A & M DC)

Jim Leonhard. (Illinois Analyst. Former WiscOLUnsin DC) Great candidate, but no SEC/Southern USA recruiting experience; but Aranda was a former DC at WiscOLUnsin and that worked out pretty well for LSU.....

Why would he come back after not being retained by Kelly as a position coach.
