What’s the point of having a CEO type coach if he can’t hire good coordinators?

BK isn’t good enough to out scheme anyone. He has to hire top notch coordinators to compensate for the fact that he’s not an expert or cutting edge on either side of the ball. But right now he’s showing he can’t identify and hire the best coordinators either. So what’s the point of having a coach that isn’t an offense or defense expert but also can’t hire the best coordinators either?

I think the jury is out on Baker until he gets more players. But the offensive play calling has been atrocious at times

Good point because CBK missed on the House hire and had to double back to get Baker. Apparently hiring a legitimate NC staff is too hard for Kelly to do. Obviously, the people are few in number as far as availability in the marketplace for excellent OC/DC and their staffs. But, isn’t that the purpose of making the hire of an experienced HC in the first place. This experiment is not working out for us fans. I’d have to say CBK is officially on the hot seat at this point. This is your sign coach!

Still have faith in Baker. Once these players from the old regime are gone the defense will take a step forward. BK has to find a real offensive coordinator though. Sloan isn’t going to cut it in the SEC

Don’t forget Polian too! Promoting a guy with Sloan’s limited play-calling experience instead of going out and getting a proven play caller was yet another BK staffing gaff.

I’m fine with Baker at the moment. I think he’s doing pretty damn good with what he has.
