what's the legal issue being fought over in this case?

I'm a retired lawyer and don't understand what the issue is here that the SEC is so fired up about.. From what I understand this is the fault of the NCAA for a late decision about players having 5 to play 5 that these guys missed out on.
I have to think that the SEC thinks this will open the floodgates for this to happen every year - I mean players going to NFL camp and then changing their minds. If that is the case, then I am for SEC position. I have been looking at this as if it's just a one time thing - after this season no one will be able to do this.
it seems like it would be fair to allow this year's class to come back for their last year under these circumstances, but it should never happen again. If this is the issue, it seems as though the parties could just come to terms without all this B.S.
that's reporting these days. No one ever gets down to what is at stake here - is it just this year of circumstances or is it the issue of doing it every year?

I really don’t know, and I’m not sure the SEC does either.

It won’t happen next year as kids will know they have another year of eligibility left before making a risky decision to enter the draft.
