In 07 I remember some banners being hung up about Tebow loving glory holes in Middleton Library

You are just plain wrong. The Pollack/Coates joke is funny precisely because there is no overt profanity.
You can’t have a sign that says Pollack sucks ummm Cox. That’s over the line.
As an alum are there profane chants I wish the students themselves would retire or replace? Sure but Pollack/Coates is clever and clean.
You are out of line on this one. The notion that you can’t joke with someone who has kids is ludicrous. Again as long as you don’t walk up to him and use profanity.

It was clever and clean in 2003.
Now it's just old and tired. The joke got old 10 years ago.
The fact that most fans can't come up with something new and clever means we just aren't that sophisticated.

Point to us on the LSU map which bathroom you met Pollack in.

Meh. It’s old but it’s relevant bcs Pollack will be on campus. Would not be my go to but my point was it’s not out of line.

Of course I know. My point is it really gets kind of old and when someone has their young kid with them, as Pollack did last year for the Bama game, it sort of to me is out of bounds. I am no Puritan or fundamentalist nut job, but when people have kids with them, they ought to not have to explain things before the appropriate time. I don't know if Pollack knows the Coates Hall joke, but he knows lots of LSU media guys, you don't think he could ask Peter Burns, or Marcus Spears, or Booger, or Ryan Clark or any other LSU guy that works over at ESPN.
Like I said I don't have kids, but I would think for those who do have them if they are honest, would perhaps think differently. But hey free country, people are free to act like idiots.
I have kids, 3. Here’s how it should be handled, “It’s just a joke.” Then move on. Kids don’t need to know everything, and odds are, they’ll see something else to take their attention in less than 15 minutes. Don’t be so sensitive, man.

I always thought it was Middleton bathrooms...

Jesus Christ man, it was a fricking sign. You are getting worked up over nothing.
And you need to realize chants got banned when we were good and on tv. There had always been cursing in chants. And songs that got banned happened over different years, different students.

Actually it’s not that different because all scenarios listed involve your biggest concern...explaining things to kids before the “appropriate time” ...doesn’t matter what the incident is, either way the kid is exposed to something you want to censor because your a snow flake. Thank god you have no kids, less of you in this world the better.

This isn’t the joke but Coates hall bathrooms smell really bad. May be the worst on campus. The joke is about glory holes as previous mentioned.

Called life bro....I mean why do people have to deal with random acts of violence, unfortunately it happens, but to live life expecting to shield kids from anything and everything you deem crappy is impossible and is why it’s called “parenting” dumb dumb

Yeah the people here just like letting the outside world know that there’s gay shite going on at the campus. Plug in whatever name you want. The outing of fa(g)(g)otry on campus happily by students and alums is hilarious in and of itself.

I was a student in the late 80s and the Coates bathroom was a known gay encounter opportunity, it wasn't new then.
The joke with the sign on game day was awesome and it is still funny, just like fart jokes are still funny and will always be funny. Those that don't find these things funny perhaps should take a few deep breaths and enjoy life a little.

Coates Hall goes back to at least the late 70's...didn't just start in 2000

Not a millennial, when I was coming up, corporal punishment was legal.

The problem is in the way you stated it, no problem. But that is not always the case. There have been far worse signs and chants in and around Tiger Stadium. Everything with STTDB, etc, etc.
There is a reason LSU has moved Game day to the Quad, by doing so it constrains the amount of people near the set and limits the amount of signs that cross the line. Why do you think LSU has cracked down on tailgating. There are people who tailgate and act responsibly, then there are those who don't. Try coming to LSU's campus back in the day when people were allowed to tailgate on parade grounds and see the filth all over campus, vomit all lover the damn place.
How many songs has LSU banned from being played in the stadium?
Like I said, this is just my view, I do think some LSU fans go over the line with some of what is said around the stadium, with signs and of course in the stadium when LSU does give the green light for famous game day songs being played in-game (which of course results in those same songs banned again).
So yes, the context you wrote I think is fine. Nothing wrong with what you wrote. But I have seen far worse in the past and heard far worse walking around the game day set the last time it was on the parade grounds, which seems like now a long time ago.
But hey you all go ahead and do what you think is right.

You obviously have no ability but to discuss rationally. All you resort to are ad-hominem attacks. If you think yelling STTDB is appropriate or making signs with those types of inferences is appropriate, make your case why you think it is.
Assuming you think it is appropriate, the next time you are home with your family, grandparents, nieces and nephews, etc, crank up Neck and yell it loud as you can.
And you all wonder why LSU's game day experience has deteriorated over the years. How many songs has the LSU band been told they can not play because of stuff like this? Tailgating has been restricted because of behavior like this. The LSU Greeks are 1 step from being kicked off campus. They have them corralled together over behind U-High with police supervision for several reasons, one among them obnoxious behavior.
