I think the best thing he could bring to the table as a playcaller is a feel for the flow of the game.

Too many times these past few years the offensive playcalling has felt scripted from beginning to end. I just want someone who has that feeling of when to call PA, or a screen, or a draw, etc...

Let's hope he brings some good red zone plays.

Hopefully the confidence to attack the endzone when LSU gets inside the 20 instead of just getting cautious and settling for FGs time after time. LSU was HORRIBLE in redzone TD efficiency last year (ranked somewhere around 102 in the nation) Just improve that stat somewhat and you're looking at a team that could routinely hang 30+ pts per game.

This is not sarcasm...if he manages to do all of the above to some degree...the NC is not a pipe dream! Because I expect the Defense to be better this year.

was talking to an aggie buddy yesterday and said the exact same thing. a couple more first downs last year and we're 11-1. hopefully Cam can get Mett to do a better job of recognition and then execution. the time is now.

get better.

I am thinking a lot of quick short passes since our QB takes damn too much time to make a decision.

Cam will bring Discipline with an emphasis on technique and better execution.

Better utilization of the offensive weapons available....

That will translate to our offense being on the field longer and a more effective red zone offense.

Hopefully, pace. I am so tired of the whole team looking to the sideline, after they have lined up, to see what play to run. Just slows the whole game down. Give Mett some ability to remember multiple plays to call, and we will improve dramatically.

Well, I just can't let go of that 4th and 2 qb sneak late against Bama.

"Zach has a good sense of what he is expected to do. You can tell by the smile that is on his face and by the fact that he is busting it well. He understands the TCU defense very well." - CLM

Hopefully this is a sign of how well prepared Cam has the offense. I'm optimistic about our ability to score now.

The bigggest thing he will bring to the table is better formations and play calling. Our downfall in the past has been the predictability of plays within certain formations and player personnel groups. The required us to be more physical and just have more talent and speed than the opponents, which sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. What Cam brings to the table is being able to call more plays from more different formations. Or more importantly more plays from the same formations. Tight ends and fullbacks will be utilized more and we should be more balanced. Play action should be improved dramatically which should give the Mett more protection and time to throw.

Sorry, but this ain't just LSU. In fact, LSU does this much less than most of other teams. You mentioned "slowing the whole game down", do you realize that they only do this when they have a very quick huddle and still have 20 seconds or so left on the play clock? They really don't snap the ball any deeper into the play clock than we normally do. The difference is that we don't "hang out" in the huddle as long as we normally do.

We may start off slow, similiar to what happened to Chavis at UW, but I think he will be a vast improvement over Stud and Krags.

THIS. Each game has ebbs and flows. They take on their on feel and personality. Sometimes (believe it or not) adjustments have to be made. Yes. In-game adjustments. You just can't show up and impose your game plan on everyone without being able to deviate from it when necessary. See- 1-9-12
