What’s more surprising. Daniels’ development or LSU rushing being top 10 in the nation?

For me it’s the rushing attack. I thought we’d be all air this year but it’s been so balanced and both passing and running have been incredible. Jayden’s development has overshadowed the improvement in the running game compared to last year.

Diggs has been incredible but I feelnlike the OL was advertised as a major strength and were seeing it.

Agreed. And they will be even better next year. Would love to see Diggs return behind that line with a QB that doesn’t run as much.

The offensive line has been great but Diggs is the perfect complement to our running scheme. He is very patient and lets the hole develop. When the hole opens up, he accelerates quickly. I’m hoping that Emery and the younger guys are taking note.

Emery likes to bounce outside too much. If he would be patient, the holes will come.

They are both based heavily on the same thing - a great offensive line. So I think they are both to be expected. The QB development requires exceptional poise and smarts, so I’ll go with that.

I’m nervous every time Emery touches the ball. Ball security has been lackluster.

Well Daniels is a major part of the rushing attack.

The reason Diggs is doing so good is because of that running Quarterback.

They have the trifecta:

great passing game + running threat at QB + good OL

I mean I get that you mean Daniels’ development in the passing game, but our 2 leading rushers are

Diggs with 585
Daniels with 515

So I’m gonna go with LSU rushing, but it’s because of Daniels

Its called balance. If you have a tremendous air attack, d has to protect that which opens up the run.

You see what happens when we start hitting gash runs, the d plays up and the air attack BOOMS.

If Diggs somehow rushes for 200 yards this week, he will be the leading rusher in the SEC (Ray Davis has a bye week). And Diggs missed a game.

Please don’t discount the fact this guy is doing a fantastic job being patient and seeing a hole and hitting it fast.
He has a special ability.

* His abilities has helped JD have the season he has had so far.
Definitely getting a Christmas card.

JD's ability to read the defense and get thru multiple progressions is the biggest surprise to me. I can't recall ever seeing a QB improve at this as much as he has!

JD used to "tuck it and run" at the first sign of pressure. Now, he is seeing better protection and he is more relaxed in the pocket so he can go through his progressions. Results in a good "double-whammy"...

Sad thing is if we hand off to rbs against FLSt and OM vs putting the game all on JD we win those games too

When Daniels quit running first and started throwing the ball accurately downfield, the running backs has holes to run through. In addition when receivers are covered, Daniels has holes to sprint through.
The OL is a strength and not a question this season.
