I know everyone is expecting all these great things this year and I'm on board. I'm not one of the fans who makes excuses for miles but we do have a lot of questions that need answering early in the season before we can set our sites on these lofty goals. Harris accuracy in the short game, the oline, 2 linebacker spots and a safety position are all things that have to improve for us to get it done. We also need some leaders to emerge and we need stars and suprise contributors to emerge too. Winning a championship is more than bringing back veterans from a pretty good team. Guys must take their games to the next level. We have the talent to do this now let's see who will actually make it happen.

1.) Beat Everybody by double digits
2.) SEC championship
3.) Fournette Heisman
4.) Major haul in recruiting class
5.) Each supposed 1st round draft pick performs to their highest potential and we ACTUALLY have 7 first round picks.

Or just an SEC championship.

Anything short of not making the SECCG will be a huge disappointment. Let's not kid ourselves!

Losing a west tiebreaker is bare minimum "good" IMHO. Enough of this middle of the mall shite

With this talent, experience, and elite games in Tiger Stadium, 10 wins is a must.

I think it is time to get to Atlanta. Time to step up and beat Bama.

Anything else is gravy.

I agree with you about the coach but I'm not sure there are 4 losses on the schedule. At fla and either Bama are arky are the big roadblocks to me. Of course once the season gets going well have a better feel for what we are and who's dangerous. But I like us at home vs ole miss and I don't see anyone els that scares me.

Realistically: playoffs

What should happen: we should win it all. If we don't this year, we never will again under Miles.

From what I've seen over the last few years on this board >> 10 wins and a crappy bowl game. Me? Not so much...

I'll say 10-2 is the base line for an acceptable season. This team has the talent to go much further than that, but its sports and you never know if you lose on a shite call or a fumble just bounces the wrong way. Sometimes you just don't get a break and it costs you a game. Unfortunately with a regular season of so few games and so few teams getting the opportunity to play for a national championship there is quite literally 0 room for error.

If 10 wins while playing in the SECW is something to be shite on, explain to me why LSU is the only SEC team to average 10 wins for the past eleven seasons.

God, but we have some dumb, shitty fans.

the "10 win" threshold is misleading. With the bowl, we play 13 games. We usually play 3-4 OOC cupcakes each year, then our SEC schedule has a handful of average teams. And then there's the bowl game, too often against a mediocre opponent. The meat of our schedule is Bama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida, and Arky.

If we go 10-2 and our two losses are to a pair of those 5 teams, it just means we've gone 3-2 against them. We can also go 9-3 and then win a shitty bowl to get to the magic "10-win" threshold.

That's ok, but not great.

See, I don't give much credit for beating Eastern Michigan, Syracuse, WKU, etc. I also don't give much credit for beating Miss St, A&M, Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri, So. Carolina. We're LSU. We have much more talent than these teams and SHOULD best them virtually every year.

So yes, I'm glad we beat them, but that's not what we should base our success on. It's the 4-5 teams that are our REAL competition that I judge our season on.

Bull shite!

There are only five power five programs and only one SEC program able to average ten wins a season for the last eleven years. All SEC programs play cupcakes. Not just LSU, so your cupcake bullshite is just that. bullshite!

You negative clowns think like crackheads. Ten wins don't mean anything when you play in the SEC even though only one team in the most powerful conference in college football has been good enough to average that for eleven seasons. Step away from the crack. That might help reduce your delusions.
