1982 and LSU had already accepted the Orange Bowl invitation the week before following the win over Florida State. We were heavy favorites.

That was a bad year for us with Tulane. They had drubbed us the year before 48-7 in the Superdome and we were licking our chops for revenge and they still beat us in Tiger Stadium with an inferior team.
Not to mention they whipped us in the first round of the NIT in the PMAC in hoops the year following our Final Four run.
And they had a fan base back then and they were a disgusting bunch.

It is rather sad what has happened to Tulane and its fan base, but then, all you have to do is go to a baseball game against them and you understand why.
