I am not sure how I feel about that, is Coach O doing it simply to be different from Ex-Coach Les Miles or he want to run that kind of a gimmicky offense that really didn't work that well under Gary Crowton.

No no, what he said was "get ready to bend over and spread em when you pay money to see this offense"

This clearly isn't what he wants to do since he's said repeatedly he wants be a West Coast/Pro Style team. Y'all may laugh but I think Ponamsky is forcing him to change his philosophy

I like it better than his only pro style qb stance

We need to evolve

You can still scheme the run. They were top 5 rushing last season yet everyone thinks of their passing

Baylor does it

Which is why I want either Briles for OC

Desperation. Means u don't have the boys to play football. It's what mid majors do.

Les Miles pulled the reins way back on that.

Coach O has jedi mind tricked the fools around here from his very first press conference. His radio guy Ponamsky told him everything that people hated about Les so Orgeron said he would do eveything opposite on those issues.

Orgeron also said when he took the job that he liked a pro style offense with a pocket passer. After we lost to Bama and the fans started mumbling that we need a spread offense to beat Bama, Coach O changed his tune to look like Tom Herman.

Power spread like urban runs would do well here.
I like what we did with Flynn, Hester and that crew.

He said he will use the spread he didn't say thats all they would run. They ran some spread this year and last too.

I listened to the interview earlier today. He said that in order to succeed in today football world, they need a Spread offense with a Dual Threat quarterback. So he's going to look for the best Offensive Coordinator in the nation.

They will tailor the offense around whatever the QB is able to do consistently well.

The running game willl always be there, just that much better with better QB play utilizing the whole field

Hmmm. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, & Washington all run spread offenses. No way we should change what we do. WTF?

I tell you one benefit of this coaching fiasco is it has exposed all the idiots.

Spread could mean anything. Bama is spreading it out and still runs the best power offense in the country.

And yet Bama can't seem to defend it.

It is a 180 from what he said a month ago. He says what fans, administrators, and media want to hear at whatever time he speaks and they lap it up.

They were never really that hard to identify.

He had to run a pro style offense. That's the players we have, and that's the OC we had. You can't disrespect the players and coach mid-year by saying we're going to change systems, what we have now is not good enough.

What would be the point? It would have just caused him more grief. Telling Alleva behind the scenes, all along, he wants to move to spread is obvious.
