I mentioned it in another thread, but if Coach O does enough to be kept, what are you going to do with Ensminger? If we're 6-2 is he now the OC of the future too?

Staffing is the job of the head coach. In this case, that means Ensminger's fate is in Orgeron's hands.

He's in a perfect situation for his skill set. He's great at galvanizing a team for a short time period and fixing a broken sink

I don't think he has what it takes to sustain a program long term though. Eventually that rah rah juice runs out and you need a guy that can gameplan against the best and run a program the best.

Great DL coach, hope there's a way to retain, but I don't want him near the permanent job, and not many people one here would if he weren't a coonass.

IMO, for THIS year, and THIS situation with THIS team, he is the perfect man for the job.

But I don't want him as the full time coach. Especially with next year being a rebuilding year. I have a hard time seeing next years team winning 10 games.

But if he wins out, it should be no question.

LSU's admin should have done themselves a favor and hired BDP as interim so that they will make a sound decision and not an emotional one.

Beating Saban would go a long way in convincing me, along with winning out, of course.

Coach O has the same standard i had for Miles. He has to win the west. Granted O is starting behind the 8 ball because of the Auburn loss, but he has more to prove.

I'll ask it another way then - if we're 6-2 or 7-1, obviously the offense has improved dramatically. Do we give credit to Coach O for that, or does that credit go to Ensminger?

Basically I cannot see a scenario where the two are separable.

Staffing is the job of the head coach. If you hire Orgeron, he's going to hire one of his Miami/USC buddies to take over.

What? The Admin would NEVER make an emotional decision that's bad for the program......

Auburn loss or not, you basically cannot lose to Alabama and win the west. Coach O has practically the same chance of winning the west that he'd have if we were 5-0.

The credit should go to Ensminger since he has said he is letting the assistants do their job.

Any anyone that says they would have been happy with replacing Miles with O and Ensminger if they had fired Miles last year would be lying.

Exactement.

Our fans are making an emotional decision right now, too. They want to hire Bill Stewart. Just remember how that went. WVU went from in contention every year to weird mulleted coach who is an also ran every year. That was because they made an emotional decision, not a sound decision.

Is that an acceptable route to go though? Who is more responsible for the performance that netted Coach O the job in the first place?

Honestly if he can demonstrate he will find a capable OC and QB coach (and maybe its Ensminger) and get out of that coach's way I would prefer him over Fisher.

More is less with Fisher. Guy just seems like a tool.

Staffing is the job of the head coach. If you are hiring O, you have to deal with the fact that he has some boys that he is committed to hire and he's probably going to have to get Clay Helton on staff here, too.

Just because he is cajun does not mean he is the long term answer for LSU.

Huh? So you agree that he can get top results this year because of the way he approaches the job, but you concede the fact that he shouldn't be the long term solution. So far, so good.

Then you say that if he wins out it shouldn't be a question as him getting the job? That is a total contradiction.
