I loved watching his acceleration as he'd find a crease, shed tacklers and break into the open field toward the goal.

He'll be remembered equally for the trucks on defensive backs, as well as the what-ifs had Miles not wasted him and had he not gotten hurt.

Great runs mean nothing if he cant get it done on the biggest of stages against the best of opponents.

I thank LF7 as he leaves.

I welcome DG5 as he takes the crown.

Any time a running back is shut down, it's because his line did not block. I'm tired of people saying Alabama shut him down. They did not shut him down. He had nowhere to run because the line could not get a push- whatsoever.

Ignorant statement to make.

Then the offensive line should get all the credit when he has a big game!

For. being loyal to his home state and keeping LSU in the spotlight after the 1/9/12 debacle - recruitng other top players from going out of state - for representing LSU and himself in a high-character fashion - for trying to do too much to help his team early in this season with an ever apparent ankle injury that no doubt created uncharacterisfic fumbles by him at crucial times and left him even more frustrated to do more than what anyone expected, including the infamous pushing match vs FL and last minute decision to play.....al because he is a war horse who with a little more luck and a more balanced offense would have broken every LSU rushing record plus some national records. People forget how many times Fournette sat out the last 10-15 minutes of games after 150+ yds gained - easily, easily would have averaged an additional 30-50 YPG.

No, but they deserve some (a lot) of the credit for sure. Without a hole to run through, nothing can happen at all. If there's a hole, he can get to the second level and use his speed and power to embarrass DBs/LBs.

Thats one of the unfortunate parts of his legacy....but the coaches have to share in those debacles for running him into a brick wall time after time.
