Am I missing something? Lsu is better in every single category listed... Academics, athletics, facilities, etc.
Let;s bring the topic back to softball.
Is softball listed too? That should bring it back.

I just never understood why an LSU fan would CARE what a a little peon school is called? I think it's VERY clear that ULL is not in ANY way a threat to flagship status, research funds, or NATIONAL recognition in general. So why does the little red headed step child cause so much grief for one of the top overall athletic programs in the country?

i dont think we as UL fans dont realize that we are not on the same level as LSU, that's obvious. But whats wrong with striving to be better, isn't that what everyone tries to do everyday, wouldn't it seem by being refered to as UL or Louisiana would help in our striving to be better, or get to that next level, (im not even saying the next level is equal to LSU, i think yall are multiple levels ahead of us,). i just dont get why all the fans here want to jump in the way and say make sure you add that L or that Lafayette everytime you use it. the official name of Texas is UT Austin, and no one there raises any complaints( I know they're the flagship of that system, but their name is still UT Austin) and if you read the legislation it is geared to keep a school down, hence the 1984 name change reversal of then USL to UL and then back to USL, "known as the 'LSU' Rule"

As I said, you folks are making my point for me. Why some fans of the state's flagship university get all waded up over a name of a school is pitiful.
Honestly, why does it matter to you?

I dont care what yall call yourselve's, but dont cuss me out when I refer to yall as ULL. Thats the name the national media calls you, so I will do the same.

Strom don't forget about SLII - The original name.
Anyway speaking of identity, Baton Rouge lacks the cultural identity that New Orleans and Lafayette have. And BR is stuck in the middle with no distinguished culture. I work in BR and REGULARLY feel the animocity about ANYTHING Lafayette, whether it's a music fest, restaurant, LL baseball or anything Cajun. I think that stems a lot of the hard-on against the University. Anyone
that has lived in both places can surely relate.
Well LSU/ULL softball is done. I'm tired of talking/reading about school names, been doin' it since '84. Which means I'm pretty much done with tigerdrippings for a while, unless the big boys meet up in a regional. Good luck in SeC tourney,
would love to see them host the Cajuns in regional play.

This may come as a shocker, but for the most part, the same holds true about LSU A&M or LSU

Game is at Ucla, Ucla is 44-11, they're the best softball program in history and hungry for a CWS appearance.
Talented+Hungry= @$$ kicking in the SR
It's one thing to beat 2 teams that struggle scoring but when you meet UCLA they can hit and pitch.

Just can't root for a louisiana team unless its LSU huh...typical

Posted on 5/23/10 at 3:04 pm to RaginCajunsULL
That's a tall order and I don't think it can be done this season.
