What to do with Dave Aranda

He’s good, but he’s underperforming for the highest paid coordinator in CFB. He’s contracted at 2.5m/year through 2021. We need to lock up Brady with at least 1.5m/year and it looks like O is going to be getting bumped to around 5m/year soon if this team keeps rolling.
Can we renegotiate Aranda’s contract to free up some money or do we just flush that for continuity’s sake. A DC who is man-to-man bump and running up 12 with a minute left is not head and shoulders above everyone else as his pay would suggest. I’d try to renegotiate his deal to add 2 years to it but bring him down to 2 mil/year.

He’s very good.
But that being said, they were able to run at will on us in the second half. Harris was a very good back as well.

Brady comes in and in year one LSU is maybe the best offense in the country. Aranda has been here 4 years and the defense has gotten progressively worse. He’ not bad, but he’s way over paid. Call me ignorant, but at least throw a little something out to refute the point. Start by defending the bump and run that allowed Bama to get within a recovered onside kick from having a real shot at stealing a victory. There is no logical reason to call that defense.
