Canny absolutely gutted state with this class. It’s beyond apparent who was actually pulling the strings putting LSUs classes together.
This is the lesson the folks hollering about bringing him back need to recognize. Canizzaro's recruiting at LSU was terrible.
You're always going to have a good group of in-state kids to draw from at LSU. You don't need a good recruiter to tell them yesand get them to come. Where you earn your money as LSU's recruiting coordinator is finding out of state guys who can really play.
And if you look at his work in that respect, it's downright poor.
I THINK based on what I've seen so far that Cain is good enough to remedy the deficiencies in Canizzaro's recruiting in short order, but it wasn't just the injuries which made this team 39-27. They were lacking in talent from a couple of years of bad decisions in recruiting courtesy of Canizzaro.

At LSU it wasn’t terrible at all. In fact it was pretty fricking good. But his first time out on his own and he loads up with guys who never had a shot to get to campus.

Corbin is either crying over a stiff drink right now or curled up in the fetal position.

At least they’re losing more than they usually do, but their class is still loaded.
ETA: I don’t like that Rocker hasn’t been picked yet.

It wasn't good. Not by LSU standards. Not even close.
What guys did Canizzaro get while he was RC at LSU who wouldn't have come here no matter who was recruiting them?

What are chances Hess returns ?

Feddy and Sanders are both going, both are poor students and really struggle in the class room
Would love to have Sanders back for another year. I think he could be a weekend starter. I don't care if Feduccia comes back or not. This guy looked uninterested all year and his sparkling .230 batting average can be replaced.

Unfortunately I don’t read minds so I can’t answer your question but he was also part of the evaluation process and put his stamp on most of the guys LSU went after. A lot of his recruits played in a couple CWS so he must have done ok.

If he falls out of the top 5 rounds he will have a decision to make. If he is picked before I don’t think there is much chance he stays. Same with Dups and Watson.

So Vandy has 3 top 35 rated prospects and only one has been drafted so far. shite.
ETA - four top 35 guys. Two have been drafted, two still remain (P,C).

Only one CWS actually. The majority of kids he recruited are your current freshman and sophomore class.

I think you have your recruiting timelines a little mixed up.
I think attrition once they were on campus really made his classes look worse than what they actually were so I’m not as down on his recruiting as macoid, but it sounds like you’re giving him credit for people that were already on the team or signed 9 months before he was hired.

He started in 2014 and his recruits are still freshman? Damn.
