What the hell is wrong with this fanbase

Myles Brennan has played one game, and everyone is acting like he’s Anthony Jennings. To be honest, prior to 2019, if an LSU QB would have put up the stat line that Myles put up yesterday, I would have been very happy, because it would take everything in us to get a QB to throw for 200+ yards prior to Joe Burrow stepping on campus.
Why are y’all expecting Myles Brennan to be Joe Burrow 2.0 right out the gate? It took Joe Burrow a full season, and an offensive mastermind, to become the Joe Burrow we know today. It is almost impossible to just come straight out the gate and dominate in a live game, in your first start, unless you’re just one of the few extremely talented QB’s.
He didn’t even play that bad of a game. OL could have blocked a hell of a whole lot better. WR’s shouldn’t have dropped passes. Don’t even get me started on the defense, because no matter the situation, an LSU defense should never let someone throw 600+ fricking yards on us! That is inexcusable right there!
Y’all just need to relax and understand the reality of our situation, 17 starters gone from last year, 2 extremely good coaches gone, the best DB in college football was out, and a brand new QB.
Last year spoiled us and I almost forgot how dumb our fanbase can really be whenever it comes to any of the big 3 sports. We lose 1 game in anything and you’d think the world is ending

It appears you are just looking at his statistics.

You act like you expected something different. This is how things will always be. You’d be better off to just accept it.

We aren't pissed about his stats but more about his demeanor. Joe was a leader of the team and yesterday it was obvious there was no leadership

They’re being fed excuses for a home loss to Moo State and being told that the season is a rebuild.

You didn’t watch the game bud. And there isn’t a person here faulting Brennan exclusively. I am far more concerned about scheme, game management, and coaching on both sides of the ball.

Did you forget about 2017 6 games or the 4 years he has had? He was an early enrollee. I expect a guy with his experience going against very complex defenses under Aranda to be better. He had plenty of time and reps to prepare. Make no mistake. His chemistry with Racy was NON EXISTENT despite the fact that they were both 2’s going against our previous 1’s.
To top that off a leader doesn’t say “I gave it my all”. Well if that was your all step aside and let a freshman take it because that just won’t cut it. Period.
Zero excuse.

Ok so you read statistics like a baseball analyst. Yada yada yada. Words words words.
My response is “did you actually WATCH the game? In real time? As it played out? It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t pleasant. It wasn’t enjoyable. From what I saw, I doubt we win a single game this year.” What does that mean? You tell me.

With all of the uncertainty with this season, having a tenured backup like Brennan should have been a huge asset. It just doesn’t appear that will be the case.

I did watch the game and am concerned about the same things as you. I’m more upset with the coaches than anything, especially the defense. Man the entire game when they’re killing us with slants, crossing routes, pick routes, and other routes that you run when defense is playing man.
I’m just tired of this fanbase turning on one player, who isn’t the reason why even we lost this game, because they expect him to mirror or come pretty close to what the best QB in the history of college football did last season

Yeah it’s game 1 with a shite ton of new faces out there. We’ll be lucky to ever come close to mirroring what Joe did while at LSU

It was a bad game all around. 2019 was an anomaly. We have the talent just not the coaching

The biggest improvement is between week 1 and week 2. He will have time and another shot. Week 1 clearly caught him unprepared.
