I think just about everyone can agree we can eliminate Johnny Jones from the discussion.

PM won a NC.
LM won a NC.

PM has won 2 SEC (4 if you count tourneys).
LM has won 2 SEC.

Both have disappointed at times.

Toss up between Les and Paul. I think they are very similar in terms of their achievements.

Same thing wrong with you two. Love LSU to death and want them to win everything so I voice my opinion just like you two

And Les makes some moves that make no sense at all if you understand football.

They are similar in that respect.

And just to point this out. I have never said CPM hasn't been successful at LSU. I just don't really like him and his coaching style.

What type of coaching style do you like better?

I guess your opinion is just curious seeing at how successful he's been and how well respected among the college baseball world he is.

To throw a twist in on this discussion, how many more titles would PM have if baseball could give full scholarships to a full squad, just like football? And also, what if every high school kid we signed couldn't go pro until 3 years removed from high school...?

So his nearly identical record to that of a mediocre coach in the same length of time means nothing?

Being critical of a coach =\= being dumb, you arrogant prick. I backed my opinion up with fact. You backed yours up with the opinion of another coach.
No matter how much you believe PM to be a great coach, that doesn't make it true.

He's average. Not great, not bad. I've come to terms with it. Perhaps you should as well.

Well I was just ignorant, then. LM is still a better coach than Paul Mainieri.

Oh of course, and college baseball as a whole would be a lot better off. LA has a lot of very good talent in baseball, so with that talent, does PM have us in Omaha EVERY year?

Does Les have us in a BCS Bowl EVERY year?

If you draw a parallel between the CWS and BCS (and I think its a fair parallel), Les and Paul are again very similar.

Les took us to a BCS Bowl in 2006, 2007, 2011.

Paul took us to the CWS in 2008, 2009, 2013.

Les=Paul.

I like where Torina has this softball program going, we now will have teams that can hit, she's already reeling in top pitchers. We're in good hands

Actually they really are. Before the added title game, 8 teams made BCS games. Now it's 10 (before playoff kicks in).

How many teams make it to Omaha? 8
