I agree, you aren't going to trick Bama to win.
This year they plan man under with two safeties and their four man rush dominated out OL and punished Burrow.
With two high safeties, we should have been able to run the ball but we could not. Our OL had no muscle.
With two high safeties you must have some sort of a running game. You have to force a safety up.

Statistics and rankings don’t lie. What is LSU’s offense ranked nationally? THERE’S my beef. It’s unacceptable that a prominent SEC team always has a subpar offense. Specifically, zero points against Ala. in 2 games. An inability to execute screen passes and utilize the tight end in the passing game.
Let’s see how we do next yr. with better RB’s and hopefully better line play. I don’t know that having a different coordinator for 3 straight yrs. is in the best interest of the program.

So I know you don't have time, so I'm going to play man press in your face and jam you off the line. Now you still can't grip it and rip it because the Oline is getting its arse whipped.
man press is one of the easiest things to beat with properly schemed short routes

this is just one of the many route combos you can use to utterly abuse press man with the short passing game

We get called for the screen 100% if we were running that vs bama

The pick by receiver at top of the formation was painfully blatant. I have to admit that I'm surprised it wasn't called in that moment.

i thought the issue was they ran zone
which brings up a major issue. E seems to have a decent idea of how to scheme tendencies, but he has not adjusted properly if a team changes their gameplan. Bama was a perfect example of this. they ran zone, we didn't expect it, and we had no plan B

if you want to see a clinic, go watch the Pats game against the saints early last year

He has a tendency to score 0 points vs Bama.

What specifically is your beef with Coach E's offense
Running the ball 3 times up the middle when you have chance to end the game with single first down (did this against TAMU and UCF)

A clinic in what?
using route combos to destroy press-man

Example, why on 4th and 1 (several times this year) do we continue to run off tackle from the shotgun
This was extremely irritating to watch

No they played man along the los and a two deep zone which covered the back end if we beat the underneath press coverage.
Go back and look.

It's les miles 2.0 without the power running game basically.

That's football 101. Run until they bring down a safety for run support. Then throw it.

O against Alabama in 2016 and 2018 with the same Offensive Coordinator. THAT is my beef.

This is true. that is the coverage they use against us more times than not.
We never can beat their line and force them to bring that safety down.

Playing not to lose instead of playing to win. Sure there was a O-line issue but there was also a problem with Les Miles like play calling. Look, we exceeded expectations but lets not act as though Coach E is an all world Offensive Coordinator some games we were able to compete on talent alone but in games that really matter he shouldnt call scared or make outdated calls. Numbers dont lie! We called for Cam Camerons head about his play calling so we cant over look this. We all want LSU to succeed but to act as if play calling isnt an issue is simply denying the fact because we all love LSU. Constructive critisism is not a bad thing.

There are so many things not to like about this offense.
E tends to scheme to our weakness, no matter who the opponent is. The line wasn’t changing. The RBs aren’t going to become something they aren’t. Yet we ran between the tackles when against teams who could stop it, and just flat out killed drives.
Because E couldn’t generate a consistent run game against equal or better opponents, we never had a true offensive identity.
He relies on dated concepts to compensate for shortcomings. When you don’t have dominant WRs, you don’t run Max fricking Protect. You spread the field and throw short and run some read option and RPOs to get the defense off balance.
When you have talented WRs (Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall are all very good) and none of them can get separation, then your play calling is the problem. You aren’t putting your guys in the best position to succeed. This got a little better the last three games, but against some poorer pass defenses.
The absolute lack of killer instinct. The team had a real shot to win the game at UF. We went conservative, they took the lead, too bad. The end of the A&M game, too conservative. The end of the UCF game was absolutely unforgivable. The only thing they could stop at that point were runs between the tackles. They knew we would do it and had a shot to tie a game they were dominated in.
When you coach scared, guess how your players play? Take a lesson from Clemson. Dabo never coaches scared. They lose some games here and there, but he puts his players in position to win by coaching to win. E coaches to not lose, and that just doesn’t cut it.
