Round 2

Today's college bats are very similar to wood in the way power translates from one level to the next.

Greg's a true 5 tool player, he won't last too long.

Wrong, sorry Fraley's arm is much better than Deichman's. Fraley has been clocked in the 90s throwing a baseball. It's like we have this portion of the fanbase who overhypes any current player while shitting on any former player when comparing them no matter the facts or the obvious, it's crazy. You guys are making up stats facts and abilities that arnt there just because the guy hits bombs in college. I'm not knocking Deichman, lord knows I love the home run and am so glad we are getting to see a power hitter on a CPM coached team but this false narrative is just ridiculous. One poster said he's better than Mahtook lmfao.

FWIW I just looked it up... Fraley went last pick in the 2nd round. 77th over all.

I stand corrected. It must've been Mahtook that was the last pick in round one to Tampa Bay.

Thanks for the calificarion.

Deichmann does have speed and can steal a base if needed. He is head and shoulders better than Fraley. Its not close

We must not need him to steal bases very much because he's only got 2 SB's this entire season.

Hell, he's only got one more stolen base than Papierski!

go look at his strides. He covers a lot of ground and if Cannizaro was here this year he would be stealing bases. Just watch him run to first base on infield grounders and see how close the plays are.

"Do you think LSU fans are ignorant and apathetic?"

Because teams with sluggers win in Omaha? That's news to me

Obviously the game has changed due to the bats but a mix of speed and power is still a winning combo. Not going to win it strictly with the long ball anymore but at least have guys that can go oppo and drive the gaps. That Coastal squad packed some punch and that team looked the part

LSU is tied for 5th in the SEC in homeruns and is tied for 3rd in the SEC in batting average. We're also tied with S Carolina for striking out the fewest times in the SEC.

Even with all of our perceived hitting woes that seems like a decent "mix of speed and power." Not great, but not terrible either...
