10-2 may get us to the playoffs depending on what happens in the rest of the country.

9-3, plus a bowl win and obvious improvement down the stretch would make me happy.

Then 2016, it's playoffs or bust

I'm neutral at 10 total wins. Heck LSU should be better( not that we really know) but who knows about the other 8 SEC teams on the schedule much less post season teams. Every year is a crap shoot and no one has played a game yet.

Edit to say predictions are fun and all we have at this point.

9-3 will probably be the recurring result year over year for the next 5 years, with an occasional 10-2 and 8-5 sprinkled in.

So we're the next UGA?
Since 2008, sans 2011, we were UGA before they were UGA.

This..... Playing in the SEC west and not being able to beat Saban will effect LSU every year......

I'd put 9-3 with a bowl win and top 10-15 finish as the floor for anything we could call "success". Nobody would be turning cartwheels over it or anything, but it would be an improvement over last year and nobody could really call it bad. To get me excited would take at least 10-2 plus a bowl win.

Coming from an opposing fan, so take this with a grain of salt, but...
Mcneese State-Win 41-10
@Miss State-Win 24-21
vs. Auburn-Loss 20-28
@Syrucuse-Win 42-10
vs. EMU-Win 52-3
@South Carolina-Win 24-14
vs. Florida-Win 27-17
vs. West. Kentucky-Win 59-31
BYE
@Alabama-Loss 13-17
vs. Arkansas-Loss 17-21
@Ole Miss-Loss 14-24
vs Texas A&M-Win 28-17

Finish 8-4 (4-4)

I think Auburn will be too much offense for LSU. I feel like Bama will beat LSU, and I've noticed a trend since Saban was hired at Bama. If LSU loses to Bama, they always seem to come out flat the next week. I think the same will happen when they play Arkansas. Arkansas wi catch the Tigers sleeping. Ole Miss will be out for revenge from last year. All others should be wins though.

"For the regular season only, I'll set the bar at 9 wins. I'd be happy with anything above that, and very disappointed with anything less. 9 wins exactly, my feelings will probably depend on who we beat and how we do in the bowl game."

I agree with CheerWine. My bar is set at 9 wins.

Most likely will lose to Bama on the road

Why is this automatically assumed? They aren't any better than last year and we took them to overtime while completing 8 passes. Plus Les is 2-2 against Saban on the road.

I think we beat Bama and lose 2 other games. Ole Miss and USCe are my guess. 10-2, new years 6 bowl, victory over Bama would be a hell of a year.

How is 9 wins acceptable with the talent on roster and how much the coaches are paid?

How?

I would take it a little longer term before I start to get upset.

Over two years with the talent coming in next year:

2015- 10-2
2016- 11-1

For 2015; I would take 9-3; but we would HAVE to get to 10-2 or 11-1 next year before I lose my shite and deek goes limp!

Anything less than 2nd in the West is a failure.
