You would have to put Casanova & Y.A. Title on the short list....prob. Faulk too. Josh Reed - Belitnekoff Award??? Best receiver that year.

Agree. Don't know that much about Steve Van Buren, but the little I do know suggests he had a far more successful pro career than college.
I'd have Bert Jones pretty high on my list if I had a vote.

Does anybody know if they actually are going to put other players up there who's number hasn't been retired?
I think it's a great way to honor some of the Tiger Legends who haven't had their number retired.

Dorsey is the only other player i can think of who actually graduated and accomplished enough in his college career to have his jersey retired. it probably wont happen for a while though. i hate it when teams retire every good player in history. make it worth something.
y.a. doesnt deserve it after the ole miss tribute he had goin on the other night.

The answer should be simple, anyone inducted into the college or football hall of fame. As for Dorsey, not now, but when he gets in (which he definitely will the way he swept every entire trophy a defensive lineman can have).

You have to be a great COLLEGE football player to make it. Great for an era. Tommy Casanova would be next. Then Glen Dorsey. The next one would come later. Unless you are going to ring the whole stadium. What are the plans?

Michael Brooks was the best defensive player I ever saw play for LSU

But Brooks was not great in these terms. What are we talking about here. A handful of greats in 100 years or several All Americans to ring the stadium?
