On 3rd and short they repeatedly fall one yard short. With 4 top running backs you would think that is what they want buy even a player like Hill dives one yard short. The coaching has so little confidence that they try passing 2 in a row on 2nd and 2. Is it offensive scheme? I have seen many teams who are not known for running the ball picking up the first down on 3rd and short easily.

We passed on 2nd down cause they had 10 men stacked in the box... Mett just missed a wide open throw. It was a good call but we should've ran on 3rd down

The toss dive is all that I find wrong with it.

Running into the teeth of the defense is brain dead.

Our offense does not scheme to gain an advantage in numbers or leverage. Just bunch up and run straight ahead.

If I remember Hawthorne correctly not once but twice on 3rd and 2 Clemson put 10'men in the box and we continued to try to run the ball! It's not going to work, ever. Nothing was wrong with the running game, just at the times it was called

yep.

And when Ford comes in I wonder aloud "Will it be the toss sweep? Or the FB fake hand-off toss sweep?

And yet Bama does that shite to us, picking up 5+ yards a pop against a stacked box. Better coaching? Better players?

If you run a spread offense it opens lanes and HB draws and powers out of the gun is very dangerous. Im a true believer in the future of college football, spread offenses will be the elite and power offenses will be a thing of the past.

I remember a coach and coordinator a few years ago faced with a 4th and 1 vs a top team, the box was stacked and they called a toss sweep with Deangelo Peterson for 20 something yards.

A stacked box doesn't mean you have to run between the tackles. A little imagination wouldn't hurt this staff a bit. This HC seems to have changed over the past few years.

Hey, look, everyone! Spencer Ware is in, and they're in a bunch formation! Wonder where the ball is going?

bullshite. Bama tried that last year and got their arse handed to 'em. In January they faked that and threw the ball.

This year LSU dominated Bama's run game and had the game in hand before Bama rallied using exclusively the forward pass. Were you accidentally watching games from the 1970's?

Well, I remember one play like that when they faked the toss dive to Ware and Mett dropped back to throw. Clemson's DE beat Vadal cleanly on an inside move, ran over Ware and sacked Mett. Didn't fit your formula, but still wasn't successful.

YUP TWO carries by Hill would have won the game.
