And those games were only that close because LSU mainly played the Golden Girls in the 4th quarter.

I went to tech for 1 year in the mid 90's and their football team was so bad you could sit in the front row of the stadium if you showed up 1 minute into the game. Also where do they think their coach came from?

i think Tech fans/students generally hate everyone else in the state.. they are the forgotten school in Louisiana.. they have no passionate rival in the state.. they play in a conference that doesnt include any teams in this region.. they are the least discussed school in the state..
eta - i should clarify that i know a lot of people that went to Tech and are huge LSU fans.. and they pretty consistently are the 2nd best football team in the state..

most Tech fans like LSU I went to LT and most of us pull for LSU even when they play Tech

Not all Tech fans are bad. There are a lot of people who went to Tech but are big LSU fans. But some fans are just jealous. Don't think all of them are bad though.

I went to Tech..Grad 1962 product of Bogalusa am now a HUGE LSU fan. North La folks were then and are now very different from us South folks. They hate LSU because they{LSU} gets everything from state govt. They are jelous and in general ike nothing in or from south LA. The are mostly hard shell Bapist as opposed to Catholic of south La.

Tech had a rival in ULM but feel like ULM is inferior to Tech and wont play them. But will play SLU, Nicholls, and Central Arkansas all day

Techs only real rival is ulm. Ulm has the best baseball second to LSU. ULM recently swept ULL and beat Ark. at home. Techs superiority complex has cost both Tech and ULM big bucks. As for Rattay and Edwards, all of the state schools have had such a combo at one point or another i.e. Humphreys- Jackie harris@ULM and Hebert - Duper@NW.Tech simply needs to get over their complex and play some of their natural rivals. Frankly, our legislature should mandate same.

not really. historically tulane has been way, way better than all the smaller state schools until just recently

The real Tech fans really do despise LSU. They root against us in every sport. I actually know some Tech grads that threw a UNC-LSU (basketball) party and all dressed in baby blue and rooted on the Tar Heels just out of pure spite. I will never know when they got this jealous rage, but it is legitimate. I know one Tech schmuck that always says, "If you flunk out of Tech, you can always teach at LSU." 
I always found that to be very comical considering the fact that LSU's programs and standards generally trump Tech's. I really wish these imbred morons would know their role.

La Tech and ULL fans hate LSU because we can go pick any recruit we want out of their own backwards. and they can't shite about it.

When they played LSU in 03 they had T shirts made up with the slogan "Finally We Meet" like they were going to get some kind of satisfaction after a long wait or something. I sat with some friends and there was a large number of Tech fans near us. When the score was 35-0 with something like 10 minutes left in the first half they were completely unglued. Kept grousing about the stadium, LSU "cheating", all kinds of childish crap. Nothing but a bunch of babies. My friends son, who was deep into Tullamere Dew told them to be quiet and learn that they were zeroes. We all laughed and the bunch of them, like a dozen or more stomped out of the stadium like kids. Amazing.

Personally, I could care less how any Tech fan felt bout LSU or Cajun fan or Southern fan and so on. They have the right to feel bout LSU any way they wish. If they want to hate LSU or cheer on the teams we play, so what...their doing so has no impact on anything.
It has to be somewhat tuff being a fan of someone other then LSU in this state cause all you hear is LSU this and LSU that. I can understand how that might get real old to some, but that's life in Louisiana.

I graduated from Tech as well, I got the same crap while I was up there, I sported tech shirts, but always wore my purple and gold.
People always said I should have gone to LSU since I was such a big fan. I say I have been a Tech fan since 1996, I have been a tiger fan all my life.
I use to work in the athletic department and would always wear LSU garb to work. Even had words with Jim "sackless" Oakes over wearing LSU all the time.
