I think it is I just can't remember how many they won before a loss.

They lost their 2nd game & then went on a 26 game win streak

The ‘81 team won 26 straight, but lost a game early in the season.
The ‘86 team started out 14-0. Both were final 4 teams

Looks like the '99 team went 13-0 before first loss.
Finished 28-6 & made it to sweet 16.

That team in 2008 was streaky too. They started the season with 8-game win streak, then lost a few. Then they went on another 10-game win streak during SEC play.

Yea 1980-81 was the best LSU team ever, and that whole period between 1977-1981 were truly the halcyon days for LSU basketball, and the reason Dale Brown is still held in high regard today.

No, that 81 LSU team lost a game very early in the season to Arkansas and then proceeded to win 26 straight before losing to Kentucky in Rupp the last game of the regular season by 1 with the ref swallowing his whistle on a foul of Howard Carter driving in for the game winning shot.

Yes, they lost in the Great Alaska Shootout to Arkansas. Greg Cook was suspended for the tournament so they had 6'7" Freshman Leonard Mitchell at center and they only went about 7 guys deep that year.

I think they got to 15-0 before they dropped their first game.
