Defense deserves a mention
Delpit doesn’t make a bunch of great highlights but that dude was a crucial piece to 2019.

That night Joe and the team got revenge for that BS 7 OT loss to Tx Am and laid a nice 50-7 Beat down on them!

While 3rd and 17 started it, this finished it.
3rd and 2 with 2:21 left and 5 point lead. Balls.

If we’re picking one from Bama it would be the Clyde score right before halftime.

Iconic…I’d probably have to agree with everyone on the 3rd down conversion vs Texas.
Best play…the burrow pass vs uga to Jefferson
But I can’t believe no one has mentioned the CEH 3rd down conversion in the 4th. The game was 33-27 in the 4th quarter on a 3rd and 10. It looked like CEH was dead in the water about 6 yards short of the 1st down. Bama had all the momentum at that point and if that had gotten a stop there who knows how the game ends. By far the most important play of the season imo. Incredible effort by CEH to get the first down on that play and keep the drive going. We ended up scoring later on and sealing the deal. Plays like that don’t get enough credit

In hindsight, this one.
In the moment, pick a Clyde run against Bama.

CEH had a huge game against Bama, and that push for the 1st down was the final nail in the coffin.

That 1st TD to Chase vs Bama
We had seen great LSU teams go into Bama undefeated and get absolutely smacked around. I knew right there we were winning this game

2019 was the last true season of when college football was still about the program and not the individual player. One of the most epic seasons ever and an epic conclusion to the pre-NIL era.

The first drive against Ga Southern.
We had spent YEARS waiting for the playbook to open up. Every year we were Charlie Brown with Lucy pulling the ball back.
We heard it again during spring and fall camps. “This is a different offense”
That first drive and score. While against a much lesser opponent truly looked like a different offense.
That drive and the announcer stating the SEC was on notice, or something to that effect sticks in my mind. That was when I think all of us were like “is this the team?”

I think there are two plays that sums up how unstoppable the LSU 2019 offense was;
1) the play when the keystone cops chase Joe until he finds Jefferson
2) when Joe throws a completion to himself for a first down
