re: What is the main reason you don't have LSU season tickets?

I have season tickets because they've been in our family for nearly 40 years and are excellent seats. I'd hate to just let them go. That said, with every game being on TV now, coupled with the move to have more and more neutral site OOC games, its getting harder and harder for me to justify paying the rising ticket costs for what amounts to two (maybe 3) marquee SEC games and 3 garbage OOC games each season.

I had four seats at one time for about 20 years and let them go. I eventually got one seat back in a better location. The prices are getting to be a factor in keeping season tickets. I would love to have two tickets and probably will within the next year. That said, however, I am not sure how much longer I will keep them. Parking is getting to be more of a bitch, and the TAF stuff is getting to be more of a pain. I enjoy the hell out of it, but as an earlier poster indicated, it is no longer the center of my universe as it was 40 years ago. I might take the money and buy the biggest TV screen it will afford and enjoy the games in my den. The den is air-conditioned, I have a clean bathroom, better tasting and cheaper concessions, and can diddle the girlfriend on the couch during halftime.

I was an original member of the TAF, and had them for years. When I had young'n's and moved to FL, it was a bit impractical, coupled with the fascist, extorting way the place was run, and I stuck with them through the worst of times for LSU football, it made the whole experience less enjoyable. Fortunately for me, I've got friends who don't find the TAF quite so distasteful, so I always have tickets.

I have basketball because I'm not a bandwagon douche

Last time I went I bought them from a friend, and the dickbag sitting five seats from me called security on us because I refused to show him my ticket proving I could sit there. It was none of his fricking business but he acted like he was the season ticket police.

So you're a bandwagon douche if you have football tickets? That's a stupid correlation.
Anyway, I don't have my own season tickets. I buy 2 season tickets from a friend who has 4. I'm not on the waiting list. I'm not going to donate every year with the hopes of getting tickets. Thats a waste of my hard earned money. If the addition of the south upper creates immediate availability, I will jump on it. I don't mind paying fees to tickets I own but to pay TAF fees in hopes of getting tickets is a fricking sham.

I have had season tickets since 98. For the past two seasons, I have split them with a buddy (he gets half the games, i get the other). The main reason I don't want the full season anymore is because of Furman, Towson, Idaho, shall I go on? I have no interest in seeing LSU play a school I have never heard of and will always be against loading up with cupcakes. Last year I went to the UW game, which was a blow out but at least against a known traditional school that was down and still trying to get back to elite.
We will inevitably go to 3 non-conference games. One should be a big marquee, the second should be an intermediate (like a Tulane, LA Tech or Sourhern Miss) and the third can be your cupcake (though it should never be an FCS school).
I will never pay that amount of money to see us play Towson-it's ridiculous for a school of our caliber and unfair to our fans.

I used to have season tickets but gave them up when too many games were being moved to the daylight hours. I hate LSU football in the morning or afternoon. The atmosphere in the stadium is not the same during the day and I refuse to subject myself to all the hassle for a GD day game. Also, I moved out of state after Katrina. Even though I'm still within resonable driving distance, I only attend the big OOC and S.E.C. games during the Nocturnal hours. Either go with a buddy that does have season tickets or buy one outside the stadium when he is using all of his.

I live 1,100+ miles away from Tiger Stadium. It's a very long drive and I run out of beer bottles to pee in.

I just cant justify the cost. Far too many SEC games during the day and the good OOC schedules are now no more with the off site games. So who the hell wants to see Furman,UAB,Kent State? If you want to see those games there will definitly be people giving them away for free.
So you get to see Auburn,FLA and A&M. Ark isnt remotely going to be worth face value this year and its on a day many people have to work to begin with.
So bottom line is it really worth spending 1k's for what ends up being 3 days a year?

My father got the family 4 season tickets, good location, back in 1961. They were officially passed down to me in the mid 70's.Kept them till the mid 90's. But once ULLLLLL, La. Tech, Idaho, etc etc etc started becoming regular fixtures in TS, I sold them to another distant family member. I've only missed 4 games since then, but I've not paid face value since. So, my reason is the cost of tickets tied into too many really chickenshite games. I'd pay a fair price for a bama,o.miss, state, fla, etc But I refuse to pay what LSU asks for for cupcake rentawin games anymore. That & the raw commercialization of TS keeps me in front of my tv for the most part nowadays. The GB plays SIX times during a game now ( not counting TD celebrations). All the rest is given to big boosters & clients of the university. It's not the same stadium anymore.

Had themfor almost 30 years till my bitch of an ex wife got the renewal forms and threw them in the trash without telling me. This is pre Internet days.
We had great seats on the 35-40 yd line and after realizing what happened the ticket office wasn't at all helpful in helping me get my seats back.

I live in California. Plane tickets + season tickets + additional costs for travel and game = Family eats out of garbage cans and lives under an overpass.
Limited to one game a year.

Family has tickets, so I can bum off those sometimes. Otherwise, just too darn expensive. Don't have the disposable income yet this early out of college.

Obnoxious fans
No cold beer unless in suites
Funky bathrooms
Overpriced concessions
Better to watch in HDTV
#1 - I'm usually passed out by kickoff.
