SEC won't clear them.

The coaches probably think the rest of them are not very good. I have no argument with that. Not talking about Valentine and Trey, but they are true freshmen.

The other DTs just aren't good enough to see the field yet. Gilmore, Bain and Herron aren't good enough in Chief's eyes to play right now

It's hard to find DTs that can play and be major contributors in their first or second year. Bain, Gilmore and Herron may be great DTs as sophomores and juniors but they aren't there yet

1 player I can understand.. But 3-4? How does that reflect anything other than poor coaching or poor evaluation?

I say put them in. They could have done much worse than the 3 that played.

Doesn't make sense. You are making decent DT play poorly because they are gassed. What difference does it make in the end other than getting some meaningful experience with the hope of getting better.

Or 3rd or 4th a la freak and ego. I know they're in the NFL but they didn't produce here. We haven't had an interior d line in 3-4 years now. Incredible as that sounds considering past history at the position. We have done a terrible job recruiting/ developing defensive tackles. Our DE's are slightly better, slightly.

Chavis has never played less than four in SEC games and as much as six against good teams with the game still in the balance. What does that tell you.

Chief's eyes also tell him that welter is our best option at MLB and Ronald Martin isn't terrible, call me crazy but I'm beginning to question what he's seeing lately

Yet??

This DL is as weak a group as a whole as LSU has had in many years. Plus, there is essentially no experienced depth. If these guys can't see the field now, when will they ever play? shite, if they have to get better as you say, what better way to gain experience than actually playing in a game. It's not as if they would be taking snaps away from Brockers, Dorsey, Lavalais, Nevis type of players.

It's very concerning and all the talk of future years goes put the window if this group doesn't improve. We better hope Valentine and Trey LMFAO are the real deal.

I agree with this. He constantly says this is the best he's had and I still don't see it. He says his defense has no weaknesses according to the broadcasters. I almost spit out my drink when he said that.

More flawed LSU coaching logic. Gary Danielson made a great point on a radio show last week. Your backup d-linemen may be 75% the players your starters are BUT they are better in stretches of games than your worn down starters after they play too many snaps.

In fall practice , miles called Herron a "beast". That was obviously just to play with my emotions since he's barely seen the field.
