Mays, Days, & Manning seem to be our best 3 point shooters. If Smart & Watford get hot from 3...this team will be a pain in the arse for anyone & everyone

Unless Watford ends up with the ball at the end of the shot clock, he has no business even shooting 3’s.

He seems to get lucky about once...maybe twice a game though. Still, I agree. I'd rather him stick to the paint & mid range.

We really need Smart to get on a hot streak like he did last year about this time. We won't go very far unless that happens imo.

Smart went 2-4 from 3 against the cocks. Hopefully, that's a good sign of things to come.

they went into desperation mode with a bombardment of 3's. Fortunately for them...they made almost all of them.
Every team makes almost all of the 3’s against us.

We can beat anyone if we hit our 3's & defend the 3

LSU is coming around in regard to shooting the 3's. LSU is actually shooting 38% from 3 in all conference road games this season and 39% overall in our last 5 games.

The Cocks were the best team for us to play in regard to defending the 3 IMHO because they did not have the dynamic drivers and slashers that gave us so much trouble in recent times and therefore the drives and dishes to open men were not as prevelant. Interested to see Wednesday against Florida how well we can defend in that regard because they have more guys that can hurt us that way.

with a good tournament performance

Question about seeding and tournament performance. If LSU is able to beat Kentucky and/or Auburn on the SEC tourney, does the committee view those in the same light if LSU would have won those during the season?
Or is it viewed as a good win, but nothing gloat about because they were in "getting ready for the real tourney" mode?

It really was, & they needed it even more than we did.

Yes, it's viewed in the same light. Think of the SEC Tournament as simply an extension of the regular season. The committee doesn't care about conference standings (it's not even listed on the team sheets given to the committee) nor do they care how far a team advances in the conf. tournament. The benefit for teams already "in" the NCAAT or teams on the bubble is that winning in the conf. tournament allows you additional opportunities to pad your resume. Plus, with all games being neutral site games wins are looked at more favorably than a win at home.

For instance, given the choice between LSU beating UK at home and LSU beating UK in the SECT, you take the SECT win every time because it would be a neutral site win vs. a home win. On the flip side, beating Auburn in the SECT won't be a impact as a win AT Auburn would have been. True road wins are the most important wins to the committee. But still, a neutral site win vs. AU would be a nice addition to the resume.

The three biggest things the committee looks at are: (1) who did you beat? (2) where did you beat them? (3) who did you play? (strength of schedule)

It should have been Auburn. That loss still baffles me as to how we blew that game

Auburn and UK shot 40+ and 50+ against us from 3 and we could have won either game had we made our free throws.

That is insane
