I remember when Harold Perkins was on absolute fire it was A&M that was the first team to scheme him out of a game. History repeated itself Saturday with whit weeks who came in as the hottest lb in the sec and he proceeded to have his worst game of the seaosn. Why are they so effective at neutralizing our 2nd level studs?

That game is over. Move on. Let’s focus on Bama.

Perkins was just coming off of dismantling Arkansas, teams were not going to let him change the game like that anymore.

Weeks is coming off a big game. They will pay extra attention to neutralizing him.

Until they changed QBs our defense absolutely shut them down. It's not like whatever they were doing was working, unless the goal was to block Weeks and not score points.

It’s a big game for them and they game plan for it. They don’t just roll the ball out there and say “go beat them.”

Against Perkins, they just used his natural aggressiveness to bait him into trying to use his athleticism instead of sticking to his assignment and then running to the places he should have been. Teams used that blueprint for much of 2023 and earlier this season when they could.

This past game was something different, simply changing QB to a radically different style and LSU not adjusting or at least players not properly following their assignment.

They are more physical up front than we are. The LB’s can’t do much when the opposing OL is whipping the guys in front of you and getting to the second level. I haven’t seen our OL get to the second level all year while run blocking.

The problem is that this board is too reactionary. Weeks played a phenomenal game against Arkansas, so the rant decided he was on the same level as TM7.

Now that performance is demanded on a weekly basis. When it doesn't happen, well then the rant reverses the over reaction to him sucking.

tRant logic: Somebody had a great game? Clearly they will be a top ten pick.

Both those guys are at their best when attacking downhill…tougher to do that when the OL are getting to you on the other side of the LOS
